What sandals are comfortable to wear?

I have always loved sandals and used to wear them everywhere. But after 2 sprained ankles (not caused by sandals) I just needed more support and would wear sneakers if I was doing a lot of walking. Last year I discovered Merrell and found I could walk all day in them. They have a great selection of styles, my favorites have a sole that looks like a sneaker and wears like one. They have a great selection at www.shoebuy.com. This site also has all the other shoes listed in this thread and they offer free shipping and no tax.

The last time we were at WDW I alternated wearing sandals and sneakers and had no problems.

I just got the coolest pair of sport sandals by Earth Shoes at (gasp) Wal Mart!
They have great arch support, thick rugged soles, and three adjustable velcro straps. I also have narrow feet and could never wear tevas or birks, but these things adjust to fit perfectly. I have walked in them for 8 hours at a time on two separate occasions and no blisters or overly tired feet at all.
And, hey - they cost a whopping $17!!!

HoneyPots; I got EarthShoes at WalMart too! I was so excited when I brought them home, I was walking around with them on saying "I'm not going to have sweaty, prunny sneaker feet this summer!" I was bummed, they had my size, but not my daughters, so we're still on the search for good walking sandles for both of them.

I will take the advice from here and alternate sneakers and sandles. Just, after last summer and remembering how the pavement burned through sneakers, I vowed I'd try sandles this trip!

I just got my Lands' End Trekker Sport Sandals yesterday and I love 'em! I took a 1 mile walk in them this morning and they feel great. Very nicely padded soles and straps and here's the best part - only $24.50!

I have traipsed the parks since 1992 (about to go on my 10th holiday!) and by far the most comfortable pair of shoes were Merrell sandals which I wore last year. Absolutely wonderful and can't rate them highly enough.

A couple of years ago, however, I bought a really nice pair of slip on sandals from The Walking Company in Florida Mall when we arrived. They had a post between the toes and two straps going across to hold your feet secure. They, too, were fantastic. However, I accept what has been said here about slip on sandals - great care is needed when wearing them!

can anyone tell me where to find tevas? going in october and need to know this so the whole family maybe can get them. thanks for any info.

You can buy them on the Internet at many on-line shoe store. I am thinking about buying some, but want to try some on first. I've never actually seen them in a store. On the on-line stores, some prices are better than others so if you go that route, you need to price check. :D

Go to several large sporting goods stores and try on a BUNCH.

Definitly sandals. I bought myself a pair of Rockport mens sandals last year at Marshalls for 16.00 and they were the best--had a great arch, and a tennis shoe like bottom. My family refused to go get sandals before our trip, but I brought two pair of newer, but broken in tennis shoes per person and they rotated shoes, had foot powder, changed socks during the day, and they all had mega blisters.

Now they know better. I hate hot sweaty feet, and I was the comfortable one in our group.

My husband is now interested in a pair of Ecco RUNNING sandals--just under $100....I can't believe they design a sandal to run in.

Get a good sturdy sandal with a nice arch support and you should be a happer camper. Have a nice padded top, and straps.

DOWN WITH HOT SWEATY FEET!!!:p

Our family of 5 all get new TEVAS for WDW...
The website is www.teva.com...maybe a bit

broken in! i'm ordering everyone's manana!

Of all the various brands of shoes I have dragged down to WDW....the one brand that has been consistently comfortable is one called Dansko. They are pretty pricey, but if my feet hurt I am miserable so the money is definitely worth it. I do have a few pair of Ecco's and two pair of Teva's that I rotate too, so all three get my vote

I went to The Sports Authority yesterday and tried on several pair of Teva's. I found that the Typhoons were the most comfortable because you could adjust the strap at your heel. They were $49.99, which I thought was a very good price. I called my favorite shoe store and they said that they have them in many different styles. I will be heading there on Saturday to make my purchase. Thanks to everyone for the tips on sandals. My feet will really be thanking you next month! :p

The best of both worlds tennis shoe sandles from K-Mart and Wal-Mart. I have tennis shoe sandles called Solos at K-mart for 16.99 the best investment that I ever did.

Here's the kicker I wear them to work everyday in the summer because I work at baseball park and my feet is not tired.

I love the shoes and found K-mart or Wal-mart.

and to see what you should never wear on your feet check out badshoe web site just click herewww.badshoe.com

Clarks are my all time favorite most comfortable shoe,, sandle to wear. Will have mine on at the World in Aug.

Went sandal shopping today so I could break them in before we leave. Tried on several pair of different brands. My two favorite were Teva & Merrell. I tried the Teva on one foot and Merrell on the other and walked around the store. The Merrell's won hands down. They are soooo comfortable. While they are not waterproof, they will definitely keep my feet from hurting so bad. I appreciate everyone's post on this topic. I would've never know what shoes to try. Thanks!!! ;)

I love Ecco sandals and I bring two kinds for my WDW vacations and this past vacation I got no blisters for the first time!!!

I have a pair of Ecco's and they are awesome. I can wear them in the parks everyday with no problems.

Whatever you get, don't wear them for the first time when going to WDW. Try them out around the house, mall, etc to make sure they don't give you blisters.

If you go to Teva.com, on the left handside, there is a place to click, "Dealer near You". Put in your zip code(didn't work for me, when i added just city and state), and it will tell you if there is anywhere in your area, that sells them.

I went to a sports store and tried on several varieties of sport sandals. Merrell was by far the most comfortable.

Tevas are okay, but to me they are just so unfashionable. I feel sort of strange in them. Granted, comfort is the purpose here, but I just feel strange in Tevas. The are just not me.
