what room request - AKL Pool

We are booked for the AKL Standard Pool view. I currently have not made any room requests, but probably need to get this on my ressie. I have done some searches, but can't find a good answer. What should I request here? We are not opposed to a walk to the lobby, etc. I prefer a quieter area even if it means walking. Should I leave it alone until check in?? Any advice?

I was just there in October and we had a pool view it was wonderful. We were in room 4428 and it was very quiet and the walk wasn't very far at all. We were on the 4th floor above the childrens wading pool. A lot of morning there were hot air balloons outside in the distance and we watched ducks swimming in the pool. If you have any other questions let me know.

I ws there last month too and I had room 5410 5th floor. It was a very nice room and view.

Thank you both! Sounds like a room in the "400's" is a good spot. Since you were both there recently, did you have a refrigerator in the room or did you have to ask for it? Were you charged? Thanks again!

Are the 5th floor rooms deluxe pool view or standard?

Unless you have a specific need, I wouldn't put in any requests-- you might get an upgrade to a savannah view.

Good tip - I just want a nice view - I'm not too picky. Although an upgrade would be nice, I'm not counting on it since we need connecting rooms. I'm not sure if that will be readily available.

We did not have a fridge in the room. When we got to the room we called housekeeping and requested one along with a coffee maker. When we returned that night it was plugged in and ready to go. It was black and more cube like (I have pictures, but I'm not sure how to post them) it was actually smaller than the one we had at CBR. WE were not charged for the fridge.

one more stupid question - do you get charged for the coffee maker? Thanks for all your help! I can't wait to go!

No charge for the coffeemaker but they only furnish one night's worth of coffee at AKL. After that you're on your own. I'm kind of picky about my coffee and take my Gevalia with me but I do think it's kind of wierd that they don't furnish it there.

Actually our coffee was replaced each day by housekeeping...I don't know if that is something new or it was just the luck of the draw, but my mother always had some for the next day.
