He says it was booked with DVC points, but it’s definitely not a standard studio. I’m thinking it was supposed to be a BRV room and he got moved to the hotel side, but even then I can figure out this room?
My guess is it’s a “deluxe room - club access level room” based on the Wilderness Lodge page, but newly renovated.

they do look nice!

it's an alternate studio in CCV, they had to get creative to fit around some of the limitations of the existing Wilderness Lodge structure; of the 78 deluxe studios at CCV, 8 are alternate studios (7 lock-off, 1 dedicated); there is one each on floors 2-7 and two on floor 1 (including the dedicated one)

to show you the difference between this an alternate studio and a regular studio ...

Oh, wow! Thanks for the info. This makes me super excited that these are CCV rooms, since my family just purchased a small add-on resale contract there. Looking on the booking site, I’m seeing you can only choose a deluxe studio. So I’m guessing you just have to get lucky and hope they put you in one of these. Or you can request them and hope they add some magic to your reservation!

You would need to book a deluxe studio with a shower/tub combo. None of the alternative studios has the walk-in shower. A deluxe studio with walk-in shower is a booking category.

I see, so in order to help your chances choose the Deluxe Studio option, instead of the Deluxe Studio with Walk-In Shower.

Thanks so much for the tip!

I looked up this room on touring plans after watching this video too, beautiful studio for sure!

At least 5 of the alternate studios are part of lock-off 2BRs. They are, if I recall correctly, the 115 rooms.

There are only 8 total of these units, which is probably why they aren't their own category with extra points requirements.

I have a deluxe studio with tub booked for September er. I put in a request via TP of upper floor in hopes of getting the alternate. If we don’t, then i will see if AKV Jambo has a 1 br open and switch. I hope the process won’t be too difficult...

Not positive, but IIRC, these are mostly assigned as part of a 2 bedroom lock off unit.

We had one of these gorgeous rooms last year on our 20th anniversary trip. It felt like a nice bit of pixie dust....the rooms are amazing!

I know this won’t happen. But as a CCV owner I would fully support a reassignment of point charts to create these rooms as a bookable category. I for one would use more points to stay in one of these.
As most of these are lock offs, is the one bedroom layout any different? I have seen a few one bedrooms in videos which are a bit smaller, I wonder if the smaller one beds are joined to these?

The 1BR side of this is basically the configuration you don't want. It is awkward.

Stayed at CC a couple years ago. Reserved a studio and found out the rooms that ended in 15 were great rooms. When we checked in, I asked about the room and there were three available. We took the top floor. If I remember correctly, the top floor is slightly different than the studios on the floors below. The bedroom was slightly smaller (but bigger balcony) and the living room was bigger (one of the balconies is part of the living room). There was a large space behind the sofa where you could have put an air mattress or two (the couch is in the middle of the room). Don't have pictures of the inside, but if you look at a picture of the outside of the CC, you will see the difference.

I agree that it would be nice if it were a bookable category, but what would make me sad about it is that I bought fixed weeks in Studio with Tub rooms specifically to give me a shot at getting this room layout. If they made it a separate category, it would mean I no longer had a chance of getting that room with my FWs.
