We are leaving thurs afternoon for Disney with my 15 month old twins. I've been to Disney many times but never with children.. just wondering what all rides we should plan on riding. I know all the fantasyland rides like peter pan and alice in wonderland and such but don't know about rides like Dumbo or the tea cups..at what age can they start riding those rides? Can they sit on our laps on these rides or do they have to sit on the seat next to us? And I don't know much about the kiddie rides at CA. What should we make sure and ride over there? I can't wait!! Thanks in advance!

I think you should be okay on anything not height restricted. This would also include Buzz, Pirates, HM - and then in DCA Flik's Fun Fair rides. We took our DD at 11 months and dragged her on everything with no complaints. I don't remember specifically which rides are ok for laps - but the CM will let you know when you get on. Dumbo is a definite must - and teacups are easy - may not want to spin like crazy - but still fine.

I think you were bringing your DH - if either of you want to ride the big kid rides you can fast pass and baby swap - this will make the height restricted rides quick and either of you (or both) can still enjoy them this way.

Thank you for your response! Yes my husband is coming. No way I'd attempt it by myself LOL I think we may do the baby swap on Space Mountain since I haven't been since it was redone, but the others I'm not so worried about. I've been and ridden everything plenty of times, I wanna make this trip about them :)

I totally forgot too about Monster's Inc in DCA. Have a wonderful time!!!

A few more in DL - train, monorail, Winnie the Pooh, both ships - Mark Twain and Columbia, Autopia (they will let children sit next to you if they are 12 months+), Tiki room - not a ride, but colorful.

In DCA - I think you can ride the sunwheel, but avoid the swinging baskets. The kids will probably enjoy Playhouse Disney show too. In the back of Redwood Creek Challenge Trail, there is an area for younger kids - tunnel to crawl through, slides, cave, run around area.

I also have 15 month old twins. How weird?!? You are brave. I have 2 other kids but we are bringing 2 grandparents and an aunt to help wrangle the little ones. Thanks for the advice on the rides, we were wondering that too.

When we went at the end of 2005 (a moment of our trip is in my avatar piccie), DS was around 16 months. And I actually had to leave Autopia, get out of the car and so on, because he REFUSED to sit on the seat. So...I don't know if every CM is that stringent, but for us it went beyond being *allowed* to sit on the seat, but rather HAD TO sit on the seat.

Every other ride though, he was on my lap. Dumbo, Pirates (nursed and slept all the way through it), Snow White and Pinocchio (won't go on those two again, too scary! for me!), Storybook boat ride, you name it and he was on my lap. But not Autopia. Man it was embarrassing, and a real let-down b/c of the length of time we spent in line (even Fast Pass doesn't make for a short line with Autopia...)!

I'd suggest working up to some of the more intense rides-start with things like DUmbo (which you'll want to get out of the way right away, due to lines) and Small World, then maybe work up to things like Tiki Room (mild, but can be scary with the thunderstorms)-save Snow White and Pirates, etc, til you see how they do. I took older DD to WDW when she was 2 1/2 and took her on Pirates the very first thing and it really scared her-the cannons and (of all things) the little animatronic crab on the beach right at the beginning. Who'da thought? I think that age is more likely to be scared than your little ones, though, as yours aren't quite old enough to know that things like skeletons are supposed to be scary (my 14 month old would sail right through the Haunted Mansion, I'm sure). Have a blast! And you're a brave woman-I'm a firm believer in bringing, like, 6 adults for every kid. Trying to talk other family to joining us in July.
