...you are prone to motion sickness? I used to live near DL and couldn't ride Space Mountain, Star Tours or the Teacups, but I could ride almost anything else. Spins and curves are what get me. I could ride everything at CA - even the roller coasters - and not get sick. I'm planning to take Dramamine every day, but I don't want to wreck my WDW vacation getting sick! Thanks for your help!

I have a friend who has pretty bad motion sickness. The only things she doesn't ride are Star Tours, Mission:Space, Body Wars, and Tea Cups. She has no problem with Space Mountain, except for when you're walking in line past the star fields. :)

DEFINATELY avoid mission space. From what I heard if you do this ride and get quesy - you will be a wreck the entire day. You don't want to spoil a whole day for 5 minutes of fun, IMO.

For some reason one of the Virtual Reality rides screwed with my head last time, the Aladdin one. I think it had something to do with my glasses and the helmet you have to wear. I felt awful to the point where I had to go back to the hotel and lay down. Felt really bad for the people I was with - I spoiled their day at DQ. ( i have since made it up to them by taking a surprise weekend trip there. But avoided aladdin at all costs!:D )

I suffer from motion sickness and I'm not sure if you tried dramamine before but it has never worked for me - it actually causes a lot of drowsiness and dizziness. . .you should try bonine and see if it works for you. I have always had luck with it and have been able to go on every type of spinning ride (including Star Tours, Primevil Whirl and Body Wars). Have fun!!

Mission Space and Body wars

October 2003 at Body wars the screen was out of focus and the ride timing was a little off (it felt like you were falling when the rides picture wasn't), made everybody that rode with us sick, so We complained to the CM at the exit. The ride vehicle we had was shut down that day for "Maintance" By the CM who was sick after She rode it. On the way to test track a Disney CM manager chased us down & took us into test tracks empolyee door and somewhere up stairs to a lounge He gave us soft drinks and offered to call a first aid tech. I told him No that we would be ok in a few minutes in the A/C. Next thing He gives us an unlimited fastpass to any and all FP rides for the rest of our stay. A nice perk but it was our last day at Disney.

I can't ride spinning rides, either. I thought the tea cups were the worst. I was coerced into going on Mission Space last year. What a mistake. It was a thousand times worse tha the tea cups.

Shoot - I'd almost be willing to get sick for this!

Ok, my DH doesn't do roller coasters and isn't fond of TOT. He doesn't like the feeling in his stomach after the DROP. But, when he got off of MS, he said "Is that it?" It wasn't anywhere near as bad as he thought it might be.

There is no intense spinning or drops on this ride. But there are 3 simulated "thrusts." One for the launch. One for the slingshot around the moon. And one for the landing on Mars. And they are intense. You feel a lot of pressure in your chest and I felt a lot of pressure in my eyes.

That said, we rode it twice and I plan on riding it at least that many times every time I go back.
