what rides do i say no to (i get motion sickness)

Kraaken!!  left me bad for days. Wild Arctic should be closed immediately as it's obviously designed to make you ill. Same goes for BTTF and Star Tours. :thumbsup2

Mission Space I had no probs with as I found it very smooth

I used to be fairly good at rides, but seem to have got a LOT worse as I have got older.

Have no idea which ride it was, but last time we were at Sea World (2002), we did a rollercoaster there that actually gave me a migraine... which was bizarre because I had never had one before that and haven't had one since!!! :sad2: My head just hurt like hell, I felt physically sick (although wasn't) and couldn't open my eyes (they were so sensitive to light. It started during the ride, was awful by te time I came off, was rotten for several hours and actually had to leave the park (go back to the hotel and lie down)

Now, to be honest, I try and avoid a lot of them... would hate that to happen again :(. I even find "simulator" things often too violent (hate being "thrown around").

Actually, looking at the Sea World website, it must have been Kracken...

I to suffer like this, although up until a couple of years ago I would go on anything but now it makes me very sick.

But this year I did do the milder version of Mission Space and I was OK, but on the other hand I did Expedition Everest and was very ill afterwards, in fact so unwell that we had to cut our time at the park short so that I could go for a lie down, no it did not twist or go upside down which is why I though I would be OK, but you do go backwards around bends in the Dark!!!, I was totally fine until we reached that part - so would not recommend that you give it a go!!!

Thanks to everyone who answered about Soarin'. I will give this one a shot as I've read so many good things about it.

As for those tea cups, well I think my DDs got their own back for all my chasing them about homework, getting up late etc. when we went on together. Oh I did feel awful. Never again.

I want to do M:S but it will be the 'chicken run' one for me.

A tip for riding Buzz Lightyears Star Command in MK. I get motion sickness and right at the end of the ride you go through this tunnel that makes it seem like you are speeding along. All you need to do when you come up to the tunnel is turn your car around so you are facing backwards, it just seems like you are going along at a normal speed.

Love the smiley!

Majorca would have been really nice... I just wanted to lie down in a quiet, dark room and die when I got off... :sad2:

Have never been like it before or since (well, I am a LOT more careful now), so have no idea why it had SUCH a bad affect...

In WDW - Teacups, Star Tours, Mission Space (Body Wars is no longer open) - no probs with Soarin, the coasters, Orbitron and Buzz.

IN USF - Avoided Back to the Future and the teacups lookalike near the Hulk. I did OK on Jimmy Neutron, Spidey,Cat in the Hat and Men in Black (I can ride this one over and over and I'm the queen of motion sickness.

Seaworld - avoided Wild Artic simulator after advice on this board and just did the walk through.

Some of these I would only do the once - if I did Jimmy Neutron more than one time for example, that would just be asking for trouble.

Hi all, I went to Disney for the 1st time last year and was really worried i was going to feel ill on the rides. I'd been having really bad motion sickness leading up to it, even just 5 mins in the car and I felt awful! Anyway I was recommended Boots travel calm tablets and they were fantastic! I went on everything! (except hulk and that was just too big and scary!) They're also useful as they only take 20mins to work so even if you begin to feel ill you can feel better again in a very short space of time and get back on the rides! Anyway they may be worth a try for you too! Enjoy your trip! :)

thanks for that i was looking for a guinea pig tester for travel pills :teeth: i will give it a go if it works on me i am going into buisness selling them at theme parks :rotfl:

DH suffers really badly from motion sickness - and used to avoid many of the rides at WDW and Universal. However, after reading about Reliefbands on these boards, we bought one and he has seriously never looked back. He's even been on Mission Space with no ill effects and can ride the Hulk over and over again. He can't recommend one highly enough.

They aren't cheap though - £86 - but they really work.

DH bought his on a US website - and we ended up having to pay import duty - but I have seen them advertised on

I'm sure Boots would be thrilled! Glad to have been assistance anyway! No excuses not to go on the rides now! :thumbsup2

I haven't tried these relief bands, maybe I'll give those a go too!

having just returned i can recommend the less intense version of mission spacw, i tend to suffer from dizziness but i found that this one didnt make me feel ill at all. :thumbsup2
