We only have one day at disney.
we are going to MK, june 23rd, what rides are not worth the wait? What rides are must rides? ages 4yrs to 34yrs. thanks

I'm speaking for the 4 year old...
Teacups
Dumbo
Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
Goofy's Barnstormer
Mickey's Philharmagic - Total MUST for everyone!!!!
If Dark Rides aren't an issue
Pirates of the Carribean
Buzz Light Year

Must rides for adults: Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Thunder Mountain Railroad. These notoriously have the longest waits so get fastpasses for one or two of them first thing in the morning.

Must rides for kids: Small World is interesting, but besides that I cannot remember most of the kids rides, sorry about that. ;)

I would suggest skipping:
.

Stitches great escape
People Mover
WDW Railroad (a personal favorite, but your time is limited)
The Riverboat
Speedway (very similar to go carts you could ride other places)

This is a very hard question not knowing personal preferences. I love all (but stitch) at MK.

Best of luck - no time is truely wasted while in WDW with family! :)

My personal "not to be missed" list

Pirates of the Caribbean Indy Speedway ( ds 6&10 fav)
Jungle Cruise
Splash Mountain Buzz Lightyear Spin
Peter Pan
It's a Small World Transit Authority (older kids Space Mountain)
Philharmagic
Dumbo (or Alladin)
Goofy Barnstormer

Everything is ok if there is time and the lines aren't bad. If you skip the parades lines will be shorter for the rides.

I do agree with DVCconcert with the rides to avoid with the exception of The Tomorowland Transit Authority (people mover). My DD5 loves going on that. It is not a MUST SEE but there is usually never a line. If there is no line when you walk by it then I would recommend you take your 4yr. old on it.

Not worth the time:

Snow White - reminds me of an old amusement park "dark ride".
Tiki Room
Riverboat
Small World
Swiss Family Tree House
Country Bears - cute but if you only have 1 day, I'd skip

Skip Stitch, unless you have a diehard Stitch fan in your group. This was the first ride we hit at MK and we all hated it (DD's 10, 11 and DH 32). I thought it was pointless. If you must do it, grab a FP or go when there is a short wait time.
My DD's LOVED Carousel of Progress. We had to do it twice. And it's a nice attraction to sit back and relax. It never appeared to have much of a line. Fine for the 4 year old.
Fantasyland, by far, seemed to be the busiest land in the park. Or maybe it was because it was a sea of strollers. We found a great time to hit this land was during the fireworks. We walked right on Pooh, Small World, Snow White and Cinderella Carousel. Snow White may be questionable for a 4 year old, it is a little on the dark side, as far as a Fantasyland attraction goes.
Plan to spend some time in Toon Town, this is perfect for small children. We didn't spend much time there, but it was really busy.
Anyone who likes roller coasters will enjoy doing the Mountain Trifecta. This is hitting Splash Mountain, Space Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain in one day. This was probably the highlight of our trip. It's a little tricky to do all in one day, as these are the most popular rides in all of MK. Again, we took advantage of the fireworks to be able to get on these rides with a small wait. We had a FP for Space, then took the Train to Frontierland, rode Splash with about a 10 minute wait, walked over to Big Thunder and had about a 5 minute wait there. What was really cool was seeing the fireworks while riding Big Thunder. A true Disney moment. I should say we were not able to do the mountains and Fantasyland during one night of fireworks. This was over 2 nights, one being an EMH night and the other was open to all until 12am.

Ride the TTA at night.....It's really cool.. Snow White can be a little scary. Don't miss Pooh espically if it is working like it should. We wouldn't know, the first time we rode it, some of the scenes were not working right....Don't miss Peter Pan....Dumbo will always have a wait...If you can ride the magic carpets of Aladdin. Don't miss Pirates, any of the Mts. or Mickey's Phillarmagic....

I'd skip the Country Bears, Stitch, Teacups (epecially if the line is long), and Swiss Family Treehouse. Not to miss: Peter Pan, It's a Small World, Buzz Lightyear, Haunted Mansion.

NB

With only one day, I'd skip:

main street vehicles
Stitch
Astro Orbitor (very slow loading ride)
Timekeeper
Mickey's house in toontown, but Minnie's is kinda nice
Cindarella's Golden Carousel
Belle's fairytale garden (cute little play for the preschool set, but not worth it on a one day visit)
Snow White
Hall of Presididents
Frontierland Shootin' Arcade
Liberty Belle Riverboat
Swiss Family Treehouse
Tiki Birds

Indy Speedway? A tossup... do it early before the lines get long. Standing in line sucking up the exhaust fumes in the heat is very unpleasant.

I wouldn't skip the train or the People Mover, as they give a nice overview of the park and gives you a chance to relax as well. I also wouldn't skip the country bears or carousel of progress... classics! Do Dumbo first, also a classic, but if the line is long skip it altogether given your time limitations. This is a very slow loading ride and there is little shade in the line.

I agree about TTA. One of my personal favorites (even when I was a kid), and my 3 year old likes it too. Best part is there usually is not a line.

I also wouldn't skip Country Bears, Tiki Birds, or teacups with kids, those are some of my DS's favorites.

Thanks so much everyone, I think I know what we must ride and could skip, thanks for the advice!

I'd skip:

Tiki Room
Swiss Family Treehouse
Timekeeper (don't be tempted!)
Stitch (from what I hear)
Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (unless your child loves Pooh)

the only one I disagree with is the Tiki room - my kids LOVE this and it is a great break and chance to sit down
