As the subject says, what ride or attraction were you excited for, but then ended up being disappointed? And why?

For me, I'd have to say Enchanted Tales with Belle. Who knows...maybe I would have thought differently if my DD was something other than the salt and pepper shaker ;), but I found it very basic. It was cute as it was interactive, but really it was just a quick recap of the story with nothing outside of Belle. And the Belle talked so quietly you could barely hear her.

How about others?

7DMT! I was so psyched to ride it, but so bummed when they told me I had to get off! Waaah! :) Oh I think I misread the question ;)

Different point of view - may wife and I could not wait to take our DD10 on Toy Story last summer. She said it was one of the most boring rides she was on all week.

The entire Fantasy Land Expansion. Way to much hype for 1 restaurant and a couple of unimaginative, replicative rides, albeit with a new theme-based on old movies.

Tower of Terror. The way they themed the place is great and all, but I have no idea how they managed to take a drop tower and make it a kid ride. It's not thrilling at all. But that's just the Disney way I guess.

i enjoy enchanted tails with belle.

for me its 7DMT.
it was entirely too hyped.
i went on it once and don't care if i ever go on it again.

i am also not a fan of expedition everest nor test track 2.0.

on the other end of the spectrum i thought i would hate TSMM cuz i'm not a big toy story fan but omg i love love love that ride!

A year ago this answer would have been met with agreement, but bet now there will be some that think it is wrong: Malestrom.

Which is kind of why I am not sad it is being replaced.

After having gone on it hundreds of times at Disneyland, I was left feeling pretty disappointed in PoTC at WDW. It was so much shorter and not as well done. Ah well, I still go on it anyway.

Mine is Space Mountain: Ghost Galaxy at DL. I love the concept, but really found the execution lacking. I am told that this may be why I generally do not regard the DL SM as highly as many since GG is my only exposure to it.

Mission Space - was just too rough and the other side was just too boring.

As far as all the TSMM love/hate in the thread, I have to say that I'm surprised that Disney doesn't do a better job of changing the screens to reflect things like holidays, etc. I would think that a Halloween/Christmas overlay would be really popular without costing that much money to create..

It was more nostalgia than actual entertainment. I was able to get on it the last day of operation and it was filled with so many disappointed locals. I felt like it was just as boring as it was the first time I rode on it.

I was disappointed in Journey of the Little Mermaid. I wasn't exactly expecting a thrill ride or anything but I thought the technology they used was no where near the latest and greatest. I just expected Disney to do a little more with all their "creating magic" experience. Seemed like a half hearted job.

Second 7DMT way too short. I was ok with TSMM by then I wanted something different than getting on a boat or moving vehicle to stare at moving mannequins LOL.

I've come to love it over the years, but the first time I rode Expedition Everest I was pretty underwhelmed.

Mission Space. I had high hopes but due to all of the horror stories about motion sickness, I've never even tried.

They hang you in the air and show you a grainy movie while shaking you about a bit. I have much better video quality in my living room.

Me too. I had very low expectations, and even they were not met. It is astonishing that Disney built that ride well into the 21st century. Could have been built in 1967. (Assuming, of course, that the movie had come out by then! :rotfl:) It pains me to say that Disney built a brand new ride within the past 5 years that is so lame and boring that I doubt I will ever ride it a second time. I can't think of another ride at WDW that I can say that about. Not JIA. Not Tiki Room. Not Pooh. Not Hall of Presidents. I'll admit that all of those are close calls for me. But I can definitely see myself doing all of those most times that I visit. But I cannot imagine what it would take to get me back into one of those clam shells.

I think my expectations were too high for Toy Story Mania.

I quite liked this one (and one of DH's favorites). I found it much better than Buzz Light, which was sortuv similar but at least with Toy Story, you could see when you were shooting.

What happened?

I quite liked this ride (despite being really sick with nausea before going on it).

This was one of my DD5's first rides at Disney...was so magical for her. (But that's from a little girl's point of view...and a parent watching her reaction as described by DH who went with her)

Yeah...agree with this one. It was ok personally I didn't find it as amazing as others. Much preferred Test Track from Tier 1.
