make a return to WDW? I'm talking about the restaurants that are gone but not forgotten. I really miss Minnie Mia which used to be at Downtown Disney. The food was average, but there was something about the place that I just loved (MIL did too). What places do you really miss?

Ann

We really miss Bonfamilles from the original Port Orleans. Everything there was so good, and they had THE BEST French Toast I've ever had--and I have had Tonga Toast.

I miss Ariel's at the BC. Food and atmosphere was A+!

I also miss Crocketts Tavern at FW, you could get the ribs and fried chix they serve at the HDDR, for a great price.

The Fireworks Factory at DTD...

Anne

I miss the Tangaroa Terrace at the Poly. It was a great place to go for a casual dinner and good food!!!!!!!!!!!!! I also miss the Empress Room, The Steerman's Quarters and the Fisherman's Deck on the Empress Lily!!!!!!!!! I would love to see Ariels at the BC reopened!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Aunt Polly's isn't really gone, but I loved going to Tom Sawyer's Island for the good, old fashoined Ham sandwich, complete with pickle, chips, and lemonade. Great to eat lunch and watch the big ferry boat go by. Now they don't serve sandwiches!

My wife and I were talking about this and I said I would like to see the character meal with Pinocchio and others characters from that movie added back on. We went to it several years ago. She said that that was at Disneyland. I thought it was somewhere at Disney World but they got rid of it.

Does anyone know for sure?

I really and truly miss the chicken satay at Chakranadi Chicken Shop in the AK. Now they serve this boring garlic chicken. :(

Here's my list:
Papette Bay Verandah
Tangaroa terrace
Bonfamilles
Fireworks Factory
Sum Chows
Harry's Safari
Seasons
Ariel's
Steermans Quarters/Fishermans Deck
The "old" Chef Mickey's

Oh! I had forgotten about Seasons--that was some VERY good food, and never crowded!

Anne

This is my first post so hopefully I'm doing it right. I would love to see the Tangoroa Terrace come back. Also, I never got to try Bonfamilles and now it's gone!

Ducklite:
It was that "never crowded" part that did it in, I'm afraid.

POLY1985:
Glad to see you on the site!!

Tangaroa Terrace
Papeete Bay Verandah
Tangaroa Snack Isle
Trophy Room
Village Restaurant...later became the old Chef Mickey's
Verandah Restaurant
Lake Buena Vista Club...later known as Seasons I think
Fisherman's Deck
Steerman's Quarters
Top of the World for breakfast and brunch

Places we never made it to but planned to "next trip" or "when the children were older":

Broadway at the Top at the Top of the World
Empress Room
Ariel's....this one was always "next trip"

BCV23, How could I forget Broadway at The Top at the Top of the World!!!!!!!!!!!!! There was just something about the Top of the World that was always special with its great view. A place to celebrate that special night in a very classy place with a dance floor with wonderful music to dance the night away and then a dinner show which was first class to end the evening. I know the California Grill is a very popular and well liked place to have a wonderful dinner but it does not have the complete package that you had at the Top of the World. There is no place in Disney right now that I know of that can give you the same kind of experience. We also spent a New Years Eve at the Top of the World with our son who was 12 years old at the time and it is a night that we will never forget. They even had special entertainment that evening. I don't know how many of you would remember him but Fabian was there that night. They also had a wonderful brunch on Sundays that was out of this World!!!!!! So many memories.

I remember Fabian!:D

We enjoyed brunch there as well as the daily breakfast buffet the rest of the week. Papeete Bay had a wonderful daily breakfast buffet, too.

Have to agree with the old 'Chef Mickeys'. I can still taste the pork chop with red cabbage and appelsauce....YUMMY. Remember the big balloon basket that Mickey brought to the table for special occasions!!

I forget what this restaurant was called before it was Chef Mickeys but they had a bar where my husband used to sit and wait while I shopped. They had great puffy garlic bread that they served with Marinara sauce...YUMMY!

Cap'n Jack's just doesn't cut it when Fultons is right around the corner. Speaking of Fultons...remember when it was the Empress Lilly with 2-3 restuarants? We loved the bar downstairs with the sing-along atmosphere. We were young, it was corny but there sure wasn't much to do at night and it beat going back to the room at 10 PM. No Pleasure Island then!

Miss the old Narcoosee's menu with steaks and yards of beer. Like the new menu, too, but sometimes it is just too noveau!

Also miss Top of the World.....it was great for a charming, romantic evening that few knew about. Now it's a mob scene!! MMM....remember the old bread at the Concourse Steakhouse. We lucked into it one night...it filled a plate and was a cross between a bread and a roll that you pulled apart. We always took some back to the room for a midnight snack.

Remember when the World Showcase regularly stayed open until MIDNIGHT! We just strolled around eating, drinking and watching. We're night owls, so we loved this! Now you have to go during a holiday for them to stay open after 9 PM.

I miss Juan & Only's at the Dolphin, when they were a Mexican restaurant. Large, tasty servings & good margaritas. The bar area was fun, too.

How could I have left out the Top of the World??? But before the "Broadway at the Top" show--the time when they used to have name performers. We saw Billy Eckstein the nite we went (in late 70's).

We really miss "Bonfamille." While staying at Port Orleans, we had the opportunity to eat there on the last day that it was open. I still have a menu from the restaurant in my Disney collection. :(
