DH and I are Disney-holics and convinced my dad and his gf to come with us in Nov. My dad took me to Disneyland for a day about 10 yrs ago but has never been to Disney World and his gf hasn't been in about 20 yrs. We don't want to do too many ts, they're on a budget, maybe 3 or 4. We won't be on the DDP

We're definitely going to do CM breakfast, we loved it in Jan and we think it will really get them in the Disney spirit :) We'll be paying for this for everyone.

We were thinking about Sci-Fi, my dad is in his 60's, so the theme is right out of his childhood, we think he might get a kick out of it.

Any other ideas for real restaurants that will give them the Disney feel?

DH and I did Le Cellier and Tutto Italia last time and they weren't our favorites.

We just booked our hotel yesterday, AKV, I'm so excited to start planning!! :cool1::banana:

Thanks everyone!

I haven't eaten at Sci-Fi in years but I have seen some bad reviews on here. I would suggest 50s Prime Time Café though. Very fun atmosphere and good home style meals, meatloaf, fried chicken etc.
We also loved the Garden Frill in Epcot, it's a character meal w/ great food served family style and the restaurant rotates (very slowly)
Crystal Palace is a lunch time favorite for us, and we also love the Whispering Canyon Café at FW.

If you are staying at AKV I would do Boma.
What about Crystal Palace? We love having breakfast there before the park opens up. We have alos gotten lucky enough to be at a window seat where we can look out and see the castle.

We love (as adults only) the Crystal Palace (we usually do dinner there before the parade and fireworks); Whispering Canyon Cafe (at the Wilderness Lodge) is fun (but loud) with pretty good food, and we really enjoyed the Hoop Di Doo Review over at the Campground. Food was not bad but the entertainments was great. The Biergarten in Germany is fun too. For a really incredible (but it is expensive which is why we do the dining plan) dinner, Narcoossee's over in the Grand Floridan is really outstanding and has really great fireworks viewing. We used to go to the California Grill - but got tired of the snooty attitude there! It would be a really "special" dinner. Happy Planning!

I'm not a fan of the Sci Fi either. I've never had a good dining experience there, though the theme (and the milkshakes) are awesome! Maybe try it for a mid-afternoon milkshake instead of a full meal?

I would highly highly recommend the Prime Time Cafe. It's a 'must do' on my list every time I go, and is a ton of fun - provided you're willing to play along with the staff. Expect to be picked on, and know it's all in good fun, and you'll have a blast.

The Biergarten is also a great restaurant, as is Crystal Palace.

OK Sci-Fi is great. It's a burger & fry place, so order a burger, fry and a shake and you will love it. Prime Time is even better. My daughter was a CM there. Fish & Chip are great at the take out stand in England. Earl of Sandwich is the best (Downtown Disney). Boardwalk Bakery's sandwiches are fantastic and it so nice to sit on the Boardwalk. I tried to keep you on a budget too. Animal Kingdom is tough, maybe PizzaFari, keeping it on the budget side. I can't think of a thing at Magic Kingdom, we only seem to snack there. We did have diner at Crystal Palace, good but not worth the money. Well I have a couple of pictures of teenage girls with piglet that made it worth it. Have Fun.

If your going for a Disney feel then CM and Crystal Palace is the top 2. Over at HS I would say he would love Sci-Fi but right now it seems the adrs are hard to get so I would do 50's Prime Time as a back up, especially if your dad likes to play along. If your looking for something cheaper and he has seen Toy Story I would suggest Pizza Planet, the food is okay-a pizza and a salad, but it is a must do for us I love the Toy Story theme. Not much at AKL and at Epcot, even though we haven't eaten at all the restaurants, we really liked Biergarten. The food was good to us and the entertainment was great and they have a dance floor they invite you to join them toward the end. DD and her friend are teenagers and when we went they went down there and started dancing and then they got the little kids to join them, then some adults came down, it was great! The band is also very funny and their is some audience participation! Now I have never eaten at San Angel but from the boat ride it seems to have a great atmosphere and I definitely want to try it. We have adrs for Tutto Italia but I saw where was weren't too impressed. Hope you have a great time!
