What restaurants do you regret eating at?

Dining is a big part of our vacation to WDW and we've had dozens of outstanding meals. The worst--never to be repeated (at least not with adults) was Crystal Palace. We went for dinner on our last trip. We arrived on time and waited almost an hour for our table. The food was not very good and it took the characters a long time to make the rounds. After an hour, we had only seen a few but we couldn't stand the idea of wasting more time in a crowded noisy place so we left. We had only seen our waiter three times; once when he took our drink order, once when he brought the drinks and then when he brought the check. It turned my stomach to give him the tip suggested. Never again...until I have a grandchild that begs to see Pooh ;)

Worst dining exprerience:
Ohana: bad service and food too salty
Sci-fi: worst burger I ever ate and slow service
Le Cellier:not worth the hype but still ok for lunch (1 credit on DDP)
Sunshine season: a lot of choice but not good and smells like cafeteria in there...yuk!

My favorites sit downs are:
Boma: amazing food and service
50's Prime time: for atmosphere more than food which is still ok
Les Chefs: for great food but rude waiter

My favorite QS:
-Flame tree bbq: amazing
-Columbia Harbour house: lighthouse sandwich
-Epcot World showcase: so many great options

Least favorites
Marrakesh--food just didn't do it for us and we will not be returning
50s Prime Time--probably some of the worst food I have had in all WDW

Most favorites
Liberty Tree Tavern--was quite surprised by the quality of the food
Tokyo Dining--very underrated and very good food, wonderful service
Boma--best buffet in WDW

These are all our worst and will NEVER return

Reason bad food
Boma
Ohanas
San Angel Inn
Liberty Tree Tavern
Trails :rolleyes::sick:End

Cinderella's Royal Table... Awful, awful, awful!

I do not have children but was asked to nanny for a trip, so being a Disney nut I happily accepted the job. I thought bringing three girls, ages 5, 8, and 11 would LOVE this dinner. I was wrong, even they noticed the food was overpriced and had been sitting under heat lamps, it was very noisy and service was rushed.

Being an adult without children I typically do not attend character meals, but for this trip I scheduled 3. Someday when I have my own children I will happily schedule another meal at Askerhaus or Crystal Palace.

Ok I am going to throw a wrench into the system:rotfl2:, I have never had a bad meal or experince at WDW restraunt in six years. Have I had meals that where less then perfect? yep, but not to ever say i would not have that meal or go to that places again. I think its great, that everyone has so many diffrent oppions and diffrent reactions to the same places. My taste buds are like no other, and my choices I cant expect evryone to like the same to and would not expect any one to like everything I do. It does show at least we all have a passion for food and Disney!!:cool1:

The only place that I would probably never return to is Mama Melrose's. The food was not horrible, but the service was so bad that I'm wary to try it again.

Also I can't imagine any reason that would make me want to eat at the ABC Commissary either.

Great reply!:cheer2:

The only sit-down meal I have had a Disney that I really hated (and we have tried many, if not most TS places) Hollywood & Vine. We went to the character lunch with the Playhouse Disney characters. It was hugely overcrowded, dirty, extremely slow service, the food was disgusting, ice cream machine was broken, and it took 90 minutes for the characters to come around. I regretted paying $100 for that meal.

I regretted eating at Yak & Yeti counter service - GROSS, way worse quality than mini mall $1 Chinese food places.

I regretted choosing the Chinese food options at Sunshine Seasons. Food was really bad, but I have had other good meals at SS.

Surprised to see Coral Reef so many times here. It has been about 6 years since I ate there, but I really enjoyed it. Maybe it has gone downhill.

About 6 years ago, Coral Reef was still a signature or had just been demoted to a 1-credit restaurant. Now, I would say the food is worse than Applebee's.

Well, we have had less-than-stellar meals at several restaurants mentioned here - WCC, CM and H&V - but I haven't regretted a single one of them because they've made my kids happy and I have returned to each of them; sometimes my original impression was confirmed and other times it was better.

I do have one regrettable meal though ... a pre-MNSSHP dinner at CRT where we had the rudest server in my life who spilled hot, greasy gravy down my 5-year-old's face and his costume (which matched the entire family) unnecessarily (he was too lazy to walk around and deliver the plate directly to my DH), never apologized, just immediately walked away and sent over the manager who matched him in arrogance and rudeness. She didn't ask if he was burned and threw down a voucher to buy him a shirt which was fine - we weren't looking for compensation, but I did want that server to NOT get the automatic tip. She refused. Oh, and they lost the order for the chocolate slipper my DH tried to give me as an anniversary gift. They didn't give a crap. We'll never go there again just on principle. Glad I have all boys and it will never be an issue!

There I do not blame you, was your son ok?,that would of scared the heck out of me. I can take bad food, even rude servers but hurt my Family and yes hot gravey can burn bad, and dont jump out of there shoes to help you wow!, I would of blew a fuse. Hope your son was able to enjoy the rest of his disney trip:goodvibes

I thought most places were so-so, but most had great atmosphere at least. I wouldn't go back to Tony's, Rainforest, or Cosmic Rays, and I didn't care for any of the buffet meals, Y&Y quick serve, or Sci-Fi. I think it's better to say what I liked.

Coral Reef
Steak at Chefs
Prime Time
Columbia Harbour House

Don't change any reservations! Everyone's taste is different and a bad server can be just someone having an off night.

I will agree with Coral Reef, however. We have eaten there several times and the first couple were great, but the last two were not! Service was horrible. We don't have an objection to the food there or the ambiance.

Also, we didn't care for Yak and Yeti. We ate there just after the TS opened up and did not like the food. Not saying it wasn't prepared correctly, but just didn't care for the taste. The service and ambiance were both terrific though.

agree on this....i ate at California Grill once and won't go back- i just thought the price i paid was not equal to the value i received in return- i don't mind paying high prices just as long as i feel i got my money's worth....

there are many who love Cali Grill and that's fine but i agree w/disneychic; find out for yourself....

Hollywood and vine...

Kids didn't know the characters
Food was just o.k.
Atmosphere of a low budget local buffet

Dan

Would not do Le Chefs de France again. Overpriced food, terrible service.

San Angel Inn is probably a no go again too. Is there a reason the "salsa" tastes like spicy ketchup instead of salsa?

Via Napoli - Bad service, mediocre pizza that is way overpriced.

Biergarten - How could I forget this? Good if you have a large party, not so good for a couple. Food wasn't so great either.

Our worst meal by far was at CM, both dinner and breakfast are awful! CRT was not good at dinner, but I am glad we did it for the experience. Both my DH and I did not like Crystal Palace for both breakfast and dinner, but the kiddos liked both. I didnt like Boma, not many things my kids would eat. San Angel Inn...yuck! Teppan Edo was ok, not as good as we have had elsewhere. ESPN Club, not worth the money. In my opinion all the food I have eaten in AK is not good.......................

Here are some things I do like O"hana...I love love love O'hana for both breakfast and dinner!
Liberty Tree Tavern
1900 Park Fare, breakfast only, for dinner food is ok, characters are GREAT!
Akershus, for breakfast, in my opinion is the best breakfast
Biergarten, food is average, fun for kids
WCC, I have had a few great dinners there, a few bad too
Narcoossees
Caseys Corner, my fav CS
Food Court at both POR and POFQ....they were great for breakfast and dinner
