There will be 2 adults and 2 kids, what would you recommend for an adults birthday that will not bore the kids....this would be the same night as the MNSSHP...so someplace close to MK would be preferred (or in MK)

What do you want? Fun? Excellent food and service? My guess is that with kids, you're not into romantic.

For fun--Chef Mickey's or WCC. Neither are outstanding food, but both are a lot of fun and will not bore the kids. Be sure to tell the server (or podium host) at WCC that it is OK to "pick on" the birthday adult.

For great dining, California Grill is wonderful. Most of my other favorites are not in/near MK.

Liberty Tree Tavern. I have never been for dinner, but really enjoyed our lunch there. I'm sure the kids (and adults too!) would enjoy the charachter interaction.

I'd go with Boma or maybe Jiko. If you get an early res, you can do the culinary tour (sometimes at 3:45, sometimes at 4.) I went to dinner at Boma, and went back a few days later to do the tour. I wished I were eating at Boma all over again! The tour of Boma happens just as they are setting the food out for the evening meal. There is plenty of grown up fare--not your typical buffet. And if the kids are not adventurous, there are plenty of kid picks available as well.

The MK is an easy bus ride away.

I celebrated by 50th with friends at Calif. Grill and loved it. A touch more sophisticated and "uptown" than most Disney places but still far from stuffy. We liked that the noise level was a little high so we could have fun without bothering others. So i would think it would also be comfortable to have chidren there although it is not cheap. Service was good and we enjoyed being able to walk onto deck (adult beverages in hand)to view Wishes while we waited for our table. The timing of all of that worked out perfectly!

I vote for 'Ohana. It's convenient to MK and fun for the kids. DH and I loved the food there. If you tell them it's your birthday, the other kids in the restaurant might even sing to you.

I suggest The Coral Reef--it is GREAT for kids and adults alike! My thirteen year old, and nine yo loved it as did my husband. (EPCOT) Request tankside seating.
