What resorts would you not return to and why?

WELCOME HOME SPUGNIG!!!:thewave: Glad you made it home. I hope there are many trips to Disney in your future - and no more to war! GOD BLESS!

Jessica:wave:

We would not stay at the Swan again. The atmosphere was very sterile and uninviting. Everywhere else we hsave stayed (mainly deluxes) we would return to in a heartbeat.

For the record, my favorite is AKL. However, at this point, I would sleep on a bus just to be in the happiest place on earth.
AMEN! Welcome back and God bless!! Oh, and thank you!!!

I can't stand splashing water into the "closet" at the mods or the light brutally shining into the whole room when I just want to wash my hands.
Just use the privacy curtain. I know CSR has them

Don't think we'll ever stay at Villas of Wilderness Lodge again. We really liked Wilderness Lodge itself, but the villas there really seem like stepchildren. Plus the decor is too dark for my taste.

I'm glad we stayed there as we hope to stay at each WDW location at some point. Just don't think I'd ever go back there.

Stayed at Wilderness LOdge in 2000, rooms were very small and food was not good, also the hotel smelled between food and the fireplace, not a good combo.

CB we went in December 2003, ran into the pop warner
cheerleaders, there was so many of them we had no
place to sit at the food court, we had to bring the food
back to our room and eat there, plus the lines were
really long. Also the buses took forever, waited about
30 to 1 hour for each one.

:(

welcome home spudnig! you are very right that we have a lot to be thankful for! every night that i can go to bed in a warm dry place and know my child has a fully tummy, I am very grateful for! thank you for your service to our country and us all!

i think a lot of folks think this is a negative thread but i for one have found it VERY useful! i don't think it's about being spoiled or ungrateful...WDW is a world class resort, and people are paying a lot to go there, and if a resort has continual problems with housekeeping or bugs or something (like CBR/PORS seem to) then people should know before they decide if they want to try it!

i will never stay at PORS again. my experience was posted in another thread (por love it or hate it i think it was called) it was very inconvenient, and we lasted only one night, thankfully we were able to switch to another resort.

the moderates are the 'worst of both worlds' to me; i would rather go economy if i'm going to go on the cheap (i have stayed at All stars 5 times I think if i remember right) or deluxe; the moderates are not worth the extra to me over the values and don't offer the amenities of the deluxes.

I would not want to pay to stay main building concierge at the GF again; but would stay at SL concierge or in a regular building in a heartbeat. I didn't find it to be stuffy at all except in the main building and found the location to be SUPER convenient.

The only Disney resorts that I have stayed at and will never return to are "The Golf Resort"and the Villas at Disney Village (Villas at Disney Institute) This is because they don't exist anymore.

:( so true and sad! i have match books that my mom saved from the Golf Resort, the Buena Vista Villas (as they were called wayyyyyy back in the day) and i miss the old resort decorating at the Poly and Contemporary. whaaaaaa LOL.

I probably wouldn't stay GF again... it was okay, but a bit too "precious" for my taste. I'll happily visit the GF to admire the Christmas decorations or to enjoy a great meal, though!

If I'm staying in the MK area, I'll take the barefoot feel of the Poly over the GF. Not really a negative comment about the GF, just not my taste.

Definitely not the GF! Not my taste and we were not treated very well. I would go anywhere else!

Oooh, we love VWL. It's so quiet and we love the feel and look of the place. Reminds us of our former state of Montana. Different strokes...

Whew! I just read this entire thread and feel like I dodged a very large bullet! I was trying to decide between POFQ and CBR (it looks so pretty!) and finally decided on POFQ and booked our rooms there. After reading this thread, I am SOOOOOOOO glad I didn't go with just pretty! I ended up choosing POFQ because of the boat to the market place, but if it hadn't been for that, I'd have gone with CBR!

I only saw one post on this thread saying they wouldn't stay at POFQ again, but they didn't say why. Considering there were even complaints about GF and the Poly, I'd say I picked the right moderate! :Pinkbounc

I have stayed at the Poly (loved it!) and GF (it was ok, but too snooty for me...love doing the character meals there though!)

I found this thread very informative! Thanks everyone!

I won't say I'd never stay at the Swan again, but it would never be my first choice. I felt like the ugly stepsister looking out over the BWI and BC/YC. Housekeeping was less than par and I was over run with pharmaceutical reps and their huge convention.

i would be more than willing to go to any of the resorts again....
naturally there are resorts i prefer over others, but if you told me i was going to WDW and i could only stay at the all stars, i certainly wouldn't be upset....
we loved the allstars when that was what we could afford....now we can afford the GF RPC concierge, and that happens to be my first choice....but if i had to stay somewhere else that would be fine too...
we've stayed at every resort except for the pop century and saratoga springs, and we've enjoyed each and every one in their own way....so i could never say that i'll NEVER go to any of them...
