What resorts would be open in Nov at this point?

I have ressies for spring break in 2009, but my family is aching to go there earlier. I've heard March thru Easter is very busy, and that makes November look much more appealing.

Which resorts would probably have vacancies at this point? We'll be looking for a 1 bedroom for 6 nights in mid-November (after f&w, before thanksgiving). I'd like to do WL, but I know I need to be realistic. I can't call until Monday when my DH gets the week off cleared.

Thanks!

My guess is that you will have a decent selection because that time is a little off, and you are looking for a 1 bedroom.

I will almost guarantee you'll find a room at SSR for the whole time.

Ask for WL first and see what happens. I think you'd be thrilled if a BW view happened to be available.

Anyway, rate your preferences and see what is available.

MS has always been great to check on things when we've asked.

Good to know I may have a good selection. :thumbsup2

I sure wish DVC had on-line booking. I just want to see what's available right now!!!

I was looking for a studio (had to move from the week I had booked in Oct) for 4 or 5 nights with max of one weekend night. I had to avoid Nov 17 and Thanksgiving week. End of Oct was no go as was early Nov and early Dec. (airfare was too expensive the week after Thanksgiving so didn't try for that week). The first available Nov 11 and only at SSR. I'm going Nov 11-15 and I think it was available through the 18th. I first switched to Nov 16-21 until I realized I would be gone on my husbands birthday. (He can't get away from work so I am doing a short solo trip)

So it looks like there is a window after F&W and before Thanksgiving that has a chance of being available. But you will likely be limited to SSR. Now 1 bedrooms are more likely to be available than studios, but at 3 months, don't get your hopes too high.

If you are not borrowing points...you can go ahead and call today, and cancel on Monday. You can definitely call today just to see what is out there.

I know, I know, excessive calls to MS only raises our dues...yeah, yeah, your losing sleep over this. It really won't hurt that much to go ahead and call today - especially if you are pretty sure Dh will get the time off.

I would call the 800 number just to get an idea of availability. Then I would spend the rest of the weekend planning the different possible scenerios!

PS. Our family will be there November 14 to 21...perhaps those dates will be available for you!

Unfortunately, most of my points are tied up in a March ressie that I don't want to cancel until I hear from DH's work. The irony is, I had a Nov ressie and a waitlist on that ressie came through, but I cancelled it to make the March ressie.

Oh well, not the end of the world if we don't get our dates. I think we'll plan on a Nov trip in 09 if it doesn't work out this year. :wizard:
