 Everyone out there has helped me so much and now I need more help!! Last july we stayed at CBR for 7 nights and my 11 year old DS loved this resort. His dad was unable to go with us because he has gone back to school(he graduates in 4 and a half months:bounce: :Pinkbounc ) It has been a long 3 years. Well he wants to share the experience of the CBR with his Dad when we go back in july 2005( yes I am already starting to plan!) anyway I am not real excited about staying there again(don't get me wrong I loved CBR) Im just one of those people who like to experience new things. We will be arriving the night before my DS's 13th birthday and I really wanted him to wake up the morning of his birthday in a really nice place with a great pool! I was thinking the Beach Club for the first 2 nights of our stay then POFQ for four nights and then CS for 4 nights how does that sound to everyone? Cape May for the birthday boys birthday(for the convienence) or Chef Mickeys because we enjoyed that last year? Thanks :wave2:

The obvious choice for your first 2 nights then would be the Polynesian. Plus, it still has the "island" themeing that your son likes so much.......only better! :sunny:

I had thought about the Poly very long and hard. Does the pool compare to the BC? What is their arcade like? He is very much into swimming and arcades . Thanks again :sunny:

There are actually TWO pools at the Polynesian. The "main" pool is "zero entry" (if you know what that is) and it's right next to the best beach on Disney Property. The pool has an "active" volcano and a waterfall. There is a 120' long water-slide inside the volcano that empties into the pool.

You could celebrate your son's birthday evening by watching the Electric Water Pageant from the Polynesian beach at 9 PM, then stay on the beach for the best out-of-park view of the fireworks. From the beach, they appear over Cinderella's Castle.

And yes, there is a decent arcade there.

Here's a link for anything Polynesian with pictures of the grounds, rooms, pools, etc:

The overall themeing of the Polynesian is beyond compare with anything else Disney has to offer (IMO).

great pics!!!!!!!! Thanks so much ,I think I'll show my DS and let him decide. I love the idea of being able to watch the fireworks from the beach!!!! And the tropical aspect appeals to me also.:wave2:

For my son's 13th birthday, we did a birthday cruise. We had stayed at the GF so we got on the boat right there. The boat was decorated with balloons, and birthday signs. We had snacks, sodas and a birthday cake. It was a great way to watch the fireworks and celebrate his 13th birthday.

Keep in mind two things:

1) The Poly or BC or any deluxe will be a lot more money than a moderate resort.

2) It might be a little disappointing going from the deluxe resort to the moderate. The deluxes have MUCH larger rooms, nicer amenities, perhaps a nicer pool (although POR has a great pool IIRC). I realize this may mean your DS wakes up in a moderate resort on his birthday. However, if he liked CBR he'll probably love the other moderates. Then you can expose him to the deluxe resort afterwards--sort of like building up the excitement with a stay at a deluxe being the last and best resort experience. Plus, you then don't have to worry too much about the possibility of him being disappointed with CSR or POR after staying at BC. (Don't get me wrong, though. I think the moderates are great too, and you'll love all the resorts).

Just something to consider.

HI - I agree with XStAnt. I would have a hard time going to a moderate after 2 days at a deluxe. I would put the deluxe on at the end of the stay instead of the beginning even though your DS will be spending his birthday in a moderate. Being at Disney for his birthday will be GREAT!!!! Let us know what you decide to do.
:D

I would only divide your stay between two resorts, instead of 3. That sounds exhausting! I would do POR or CS first and then Beach Club. Beach Club does have the best pool at WDW, but I've heard CS is nice too. If your son liked CBR, I think he would also like CS. I've heard POR is a little quieter.

well i discussed all of your good advise with my DS and he said "why dont we switch it around and leave a week earlier" Out of the mouths of babes. so we will do both moderate resorts first and then the last three nights( with one of them being the day of his birthday) at the BC. Thank you all for your good advise. Now does anyone know whether they do anything at the BC for childrens birthdays? swilphil it does sound exausting but since we live on the west coast and can only make it to Disney World once every blue moon we want to have alot of different experiences including resorts. :wave2:

Well, good luck at the Beach Club. I still think you'd appreciate the Polynesian a LOT more (much better value for the money), but, have a good time wherever you stay.

ive been checking out all of the things i possibly can about the poly. I think I am convinced that it has much more for us then the BC. Now I have to convince my DS that the Poly will be the best. The pools, the beach, the fire works from the beach, the differnt places to eat, the monorail. I could go on and on. I just couldnt find as many pluses at the BC.:wave2:
