I am getting info for a pal. I have never had to deal with this many people. 3 kids 3 adults.. what options does he have for resorts? it is a DH DW DMIL and 3 kids. I am thinking 2 rooms at the POP, what else can he do that isnt too pricey?
Thanks!

doesn't one of the allstars have suites? What about one of the villas?

The most affordable options are 2 rooms at a value, The All Star Family Suites or a FW cabin.

2 rooms vs. Family Suites:

For comparison, the price of a Family Suite is $9-11 more then 2 Standard Rooms, or $13-15 less the 2 Preferred Rooms, depending on season.

Also a fridge is included in AS Suite.

Fridges cost $10 a night to rent when staying at a value . Don't forget the Queen size bed,a coffee pot and microwave are also in Family Suites.

Family Suites vs. Fw cabins:

Both sleep 6.
FW cabin has double beds and a bunk bed, full kitchen, 1 TV and 1 bathroom.
Family Suites has a Queen size bed in a master bedroom area, a fold out sofa, fold out chair and fold out ottoman. The Suite also has a kitchenette. 2 TVs and 2 bathrooms. The Suites also have a privacy curtain(like the mod's have) by each of the sinks.

The FW cabins start at $249 during value season.
The Family Suites start at $179 during value season.
Here is the web site with the resort rates for 2007:

http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/disney-rates-2007.htm#VALUE

The cabins will also charge$10 extra a night for the 3rd adult.
1-6 adults can stay at the Family Suites for the same set price.

DH and I stayed in a Family Suite at All Star Music ( a value resort) last Sept. (2006)

We really enjoyed the Queen size bed, the kitchenette with the microwave, having a sofa and cushioned chair to sit on and relax after a day at the parks before retiring for the evening.

I thought the pullouts very comfortable.

They are designed so the back cushion and seat cushion of the pullout support the pullout. There is no metal bar to hurt the sleepers back.

We just got back from the Cabins in FW and they sleep 6. The bedroom was a double bed and a set of bunkbeds they living room has a murphy bed that was quite comfortable.

options for 6

2 rooms at a value (cheapest)

All Star Music Suites

FW cabins

2-bedroom DVC resorts

Others suites - CSR and Deluxes

There are also deluxe concierge rooms at BWI that sleep six, but they are pricey (although if you factor in concierge services like daily breakfast, snacks, etc. for 6, the price starts to look more reasonable).

What are the ages of the children? Is one under 3 years old? If so, they have a lot more options. Many of the deluxe resorts sleep 5 in their standard rooms, plus one under 3 years old.

If they are all over 3, then I would consider either the Family Suite at All Star Music, the FW Cabins, the deluxe rooms at WL or BWI (two queen beds and a sofabed), or the 2br DVC resorts. You can book two rooms at any resort to accommodate a party of that size, but connecting rooms are only a request, so you may not end up next to each other. The cheapest option here would be two rooms at one of the value resorts.

Hmm played with the booking site, cant get AS suits to come up, but I am sure this is due to the week they are going which is 11-18-25 Thanksgiving week. Wonder if they are solid on that week? Busy week for WDW. Looks like I can get 2 rooms at the POP tho. I think he will prefer 2 rooms anyway, as he talked about having MIL taking the kids and having some alone time with his wife ;)

Thanks for you help!

We did 2 rooms at the All Stars with 2 adults and 3 kids. It was great having 4 double beds (6'6" DH and 6'4" DS each got to sleep diagonally on their own beds!) and 2 bathrooms.

remember to call them and ask for connecting rooms. They won't do this unless you ask for it.:rolleyes1

I was doing booking online to check things out. WHY O WHY he picked Thanksgiving week :confused3 (doesn't want the kids missing too much school)

Pretty sure POP will be it for them. I am thinking dining will work well for them too. They are planning 5 days WDW and 2 for Universal (I am so not one to do that but its his deal)

2 for Universal (I am so not one to do that but its his deal)

then do WDW for 5 days, have him spend the last 2 days at US hotel - during thankgiving week it might be more crowded than they planned and he will need the FOLE that you get for free when you stay at a US hotels - otherwise it will cost him $50.99 for 1-day both parks per person.

What is FOLE?
