Just booked Port Orleans-French Quarter, standard room for $132.00 (including tax) for 3/2003. Can also get same rate for Coronado Springs or Carribean Beach. Which is best resort & why in anyone's opinion ? Also is The Riverside closer to main pool than French Quarter ? Don't really stay in my room much when at WDW but a nice large heated pool & good food court & easy access to bus is important to my teens and quiet location with pretty grounds, landscape, setting & jacuzzi important to me. My prior impressions of these resorts are: stayed at Dixie Landings 8 yrs ago & liked it, briefly ate at Coronado's Food court when it was newly opened & thought then that it seemed overlarge & lacking warmth & never have been near the Carribean Resort at all. (Have stayed at Swan & Dolphin mostly). Anyone have any input, recommendations as to which rooms or buildings to request. Trying to be economical this trip.
Thanks for any help.

IMO, all of the resorts you're considering are very nice, and it comes to a matter of personal taste. Are you in the mood for the Caribbean, the southwest/Mexico, New Orleans, or the bayou/mansions. Some people LOVE the CS food court and others have strong feelings against it (for me, it's OK, and wouldn't be the reason I'd stay at a resort or not). If you really enjoy taking the boat to Downtown Disney, POFQ or POR would be your choice. If you need a room with a trundle bed, it's POR (the resort formerly known as Dixie Landings). Some people hate to have to walk around a big resort, and they choose POFQ.

I've stayed at CS and POR and enjoyed both very much, and would expect to enjoy the other resorts, as well, from what I've seen when we ate there and walked around.

The pool with the dragon slide (which kids seem to really enjoy) is in POFQ. POR has a main pool and also some quiet pools, and guests can go over to the dragon slide pool. CS has a fun pool area with a slide, but you could end up in a room that's a 10 minute walk. CB has the beach. Decisions, decisions, decision! I wouldn't tell you NOT to stay in any of those, which doesn't help much :-)

Stay where you are!!! PO-FQ is AWESOME! It is the least spread out, lends itself to romance, has great waterviews (make sure to request this!), the pool is really nice, the food court is fairly new, and the food was delicious. You also have access to all of the amenities at PO-R, so it like getting 2 resorts' worth of amenities for one price. There is a water taxi between the 2 resorts, as well as a boat that runs between PO-FQ and Downtown Disney from 4:30 in the afternoon until 11 pm.

The bus transportion was great from this resort as well!

Don't second guess yourself, keep your ressies, and then you can visit the others while you are there.

My favorite Moderate resort is the PO-FQ. We loved the atmosphere, the dining and the use of the boat to Downtown Disney. Port Orleans gives you the look and feel of a deluxe at a moderate price.:bounce: :Pinkbounc

Thanks for your help. I did second guess myself & change to the Carribean. denman007 had some lovely photos (have used one as a screen saver) & info on the new food market, plus info on the availablity of ice cream sundaes in the afternoon & a Captain Morgan's rum concoction available at "Shutters" strongly influenced me. I also think I'm more of a pirate personality-just love "pirate's of the Carribean".
Isn't it wonderful all the great info & pictures you can get on this web site if you spend some time surfing !

We'll be spending our next vacation at POFQ. We have heard nice things about this resort.

eeyore0062 is right. Don't second guess yourself. We have stayed deluxe concierge to ASMu and have never been dissappointed.

...and Welcome to the DIS!!

Like the other post said it is a matter of taste and what themeing you think you would most enjoy. Other than the themeing they are all pretty much the same. We stayed at POR and CBR and enjoyed CBR better but mostly due to the island theme.
