I am planning a trip for next December and I am trying to figure out which hotel to stay at. We have stay at two of the deluxes and had thought about staying at Broadwalk since we love finishing off the day at Epcot. However we thought about staying at a moderate or even a value and using the extra $$ to eat at some of the nicer resturants and doing more extra things to do at WDW. So I would appreciate some advice where to stay at during our next trip. We also thought about staying at one resort for half of our trip and another resort for the rest of the trip. Any thoughts on doing this as well? Sorry if I am too long-winded or if these has come up in the past. I would just like some advice from the experts....:)

Thanks!

Split stays can be a lot of fun. for Moderates I recommed Port Orleans Riverside, especially is you have a car. Coronado Springs is nice as well.
As for food money and trying nicer places have you considered the DDP Disney dining plan? It saves you a lot overall on your food. you don't say when you are planning to come, 2008 plan has some changes making it a bit less attractive but can still save you money, if you have not checked it out do that.

I am planning to come Dec. 3-13. I have looked at the Disney Dining Plan but not sure if it is worth it due to the new changes but that was before we discuss going with the intention of eating at some of the resturants that we have being wanting to eat at for a long time. Thanks for the advice!! I appreciate it!

I think you should pick your resort based on where you'll be spending most of your time throughout your stay. You mentioned liking to end your days at Epcot - that's the reason why we purchased at BWV and stay there every year!:thumbsup2 It's just a short walk back to the resort!:woohoo:

There's nothing like enjoying a leisurely walk around World Showcase, slowly enjoying your cocktail, and watching the massive crowds head to the exits for the monorails or buses!

Here are some CSR x-mas pics!!

WL is the most gorgeous place to stay at for the holidays, nothing else compares for us. We have visited all the Deluxe resorts in Dec and WL wins hands down.

We have stayed at WL last Dec and CBR and POR before that...

In our experience the mods and values do not decorate except for the check in lobby area...and at that it is just a little bit

If you love ending your night at EPCOT then Boardwalk or Beach Club or Yaght Club are the resorts to stay at but they are costly.

Ive never stayed here but heard nice things about the Swan or Dolphin and they seem to run specials quite a bit, you should see what their rate is for that time of year.

If you are used to staying in the delux resorts you may be disappointed in the Values. for Moderates I really enjoy our stays at the PO-RS.

I'd try for the Boardwalk and if you dont already have one - start a change jar and faithfully put ALL you change EVERY day in that jar - you'd be really surprised how much you can collect in one year - use that money for those special dinners.

Sounds to me you want an Epcot resort. Our favorite is the BW second would be BC and last would be Dolphin. We have stayed at all 3 and like BW the best. Congrats on your RN!!!

We have stayed at the Swan in the past and liked it. It is owned by the Westin and not Disney. You can still use all of Disney transportation, but can not use your room key to charge in the resorts. The pool is nice (it is shared with the Dolphin) although I do not know how much you will use the pool in Dec. The food options are good. It is just off of the Boardwalk and we walked to and from Epcot each time. We tried the walk to MGM but it was July and VERY hot so used the boats after that. The rooms are nice. I am not sure how much they decorate the lobby area, so that is something to consider.
We were at the Beach Club villas in 2005 for Thanksgiving and the decorations were BEAUTIFUL. The one bedroom villa was nice because we had our own washer/dryer and a small kitchen. And the walk to World Showcase took less than 5 minutes. It was a beautiful resort. The villa cost us the same as a hotel room was going to.

Here is our preferred order list:

1. Beach Club (villa if possible)
2. Boardwalk (villa if possible)
3. Swan
4. POFQ

Thank you so much for all of the advice!! I think I will try to stay at the Boardwalk Inn for at least part of the trip. I really would like to be walking back from Epcot instead of the mad dash to the boats and then riding in the boat along with a bunch of other people. Thanks again for all of the advice. I am going to try to save our $$ and stay at the Boardwalk.

I agree with you. We stay there on our first trip and fell in love. However we are trying to stay at different resorts but I cannot wait until we stay there again. Also every trip we try to go back and see our "home"
