Was wondering which resort is closer to the International Gateway at Epcot, BCV or BWV and how long is the walk.

I would like to know the same for MGM as well.

Much appreciated.

BCV is closer to Epcot but not by much. BWV is a closer walk to MGM but again, not by much. The time it takes to walk will depend on where your room is located within each resort.

Someone posted some maps with the actual distances awhile back. Maybe they can repost them here as well?

The Epcot distance comparison between BCV and BWV is close enough that I strongly suspect the closest room in BWV is closer than the farthest room at BCV. But as I don't have GPS equipment, I can't prove anything. In either case the walk is on the order of 10 minutes, maybe 5 if you're in a close room and really hustle.

On the other hand, BWV is signficantly closer to MGM than BCV.

I'm sorry, but I disagree. BCV is MUCH closer to Epcot than BWV (hundreds of yards I would expect) simply because at BCV the villas are on the Epcot side and at BWV the Villas are on the opposite side as Epcot. The closest rooms at BWV would be near the lobby, the furthest rooms at BCV would be those nearest the lobby. If you go from BCV lobby to Epcot versus BWV lobby to Epcot, my guess is that you are talking about as much as .25 miles difference, BUT they are still both pretty darn close.

hands down BCV - I mean come on it is next door....

the BWV is not near it. now the BWI would be much closer than BWV - but still BCV beats them both. you have a long walk to even get in the BW area - then BWV is still quite a long walk down from this point.

now for Studios BWV definitely beats the BCV - BCV is about as far from Studios as you can get and be an Epcot resort.

to get to the EPcot from BCV - you walk by the BC turn left go over a hill and walk a little and you are there. 5 minutes

to get to Epcot from BWV - first you have to get out of the building - much harder (my opinion) - say you take the elevators - then you are still not on the BW - that takes a good minute - probably longer - depends upon how far you are from the elevators - then another 6 minutes getting pass the BW area - then another 5 minutes to get to Epcot IG.

now if you walk really fast - then it will tell less for you - if you walk slow add a few minutes.

the fastest way for most people to get to Epcot from BWV is to take the boat, the fastest way from BCV is to walk.

lol - my coworkers just asked me what I was laughing at
after I explained they said "Ok, I guess you have to be a DISer!"

I am not sure how some of you think that BWV and BCV are comparable distances. I have walked both and it is much shorter from BCV. Just walk around the outside of the resort.

Yes, the BCVs are likely closer to EPCOT. However, to put this in perspective, a walk to teh typicall bus stop and the walk from the bust stop to the park upi have been dropped at still seems to be compareable to the walk from the BWV to EPCOT. The distance walked compared to what you walk in a week in WDW is miniscule. Can't go wrong either way!

I agree...BCV seems closer to Epcot....but, they're BOTH an easy walk!!! Now, I thought the MGM walk from BWV was long!!! I know it would be longer to BCV...but, still...it was a hike!!!! However, it was still much faster than taking the boat!!!

We like Epcot much better than MGM...I'm so glad those resorts are closer to Epcot!!!

The walk from BWV to MGM didn't seem too bad to us but it was the walk back on tired feet that felt like forever. ;)

BCV is closer to EPCOT but both are short walks for people without walking issues. If you have some kind of walking issue you should know that the walk way up to EPCOT has a rise in it from the gift shop on up. There is also one short rise in the walkway over to EPCOT. BWV are closer to MGM.

A question about the international gateway. I know that area of the park doesnt open up until 2 hours after the front half of the park. So how do you get into epcot from BWV/BCV when the park first opens during the day?

I believe that gate is open anyway - you just walk to the front from there. I am only speaking from our one experience going in that early and it was a few years ago.

Yep, you can enter through the IG when FW opens.

The Gateway opens when the front of the park opens. There are CM's up there and they guide you through part of World Showcase (ie england, canada) You can walk thru there, but the country itself isn't open......It is actually a pleasant walk!

They usually have a CM after the entrance to the IG. Keeping an eye on things and I thought that the path leading to teh main part of WS is roped off, but you just walk right over to Future World.

Yes, the gate is open although World Showcase buildings are not. As I recall, when you go in, you can only turn left and walk past UK and Canada. The buildings themselves are roped off.

Has anybody noticed that the walks to Epcot and the Studios from the Epcot Resort area have some sort of odd metaphysical anomaly? In the mornings, they are an easy walk. But at the end of the day, somebody has sprinkled pixie dust along the walkways and added several miles!

To me, one of the nicest things to do is to enter IG when only FW is open. The CMs are there to prevent you from turning right to France, but there's nothing to prevent you fron sitting on a bench in UK, listen to the music, and watch people hurry past going to FW. It's beautiful-one reason I love to stay at BCV is to do this. Although I haven't yet, some morning I'm going to bring my coffee in to IG and just sit and people watch for a while.
