Hello fellow Dis'ers. I was wondering something. According to Birnbaum's, the value season for 2004, at least one of the times I'm looking at going, ends Sept. 29th. If I book my room only Sept. 28th, will I get my value rate all through my stay or will I have to pay regular rates for the time I'm there? I wanted to during Oct., but for some reason Oct. is considered regular season...anyone know why? Thanks in advance.

if the season changes during your stay ..you pay both rates..the rate only applies to those specific dates

The rate you get depends on the time your reservation starts. If your reservation starts on Sept. 28, and Sept. 28 is Value Season, then you'll get Value Season rates throughout your reservation. Your rate will not be 'split' (pay one rate for one part of the trip, then another for the rest). Also remember that the 'Rate Seasons' vary depending on the resort type, so check the dates carefully.

Have Fun! :)

I just read bat4less's post (it came while I was typing my response). I don't want to give the wrong info, so did the policy change recently? While booking my trip last year one of the dates that I reserved had this same situation (I arrived in Value Season, then left in Regular season) and my reservation was for the Value Season rate (I even had a confirmation). I had the same concern. I eventually changed it, so I didn't get to actually test it. But at that time it was the information I got from the CM.

Could someone please corroborate? I'd hate to give the wrong info, and if I did, I'm sorry.

Again, I think it depends on the CM. When we stayed at WL one year, we had to check out without leaving the room and check back in to get different rates. Kind of silly, but we did it to save the money.

MKFan, accroding to mousesavers.com, you are correct - rates applied at time of check in carry through your length of stay. Then again, with 100 CM's, you'll get 100 different stories - so maybe this is entirely up to the whim of the person you're talking to at the time!

Thanks MouseHound, I knew I wasn't crazy  !

Lewski709: Was that to get the better rate on the second check-in? If so, that was a creative way to go about it.

Agree with '...it depends on the CM'. At least it's nice to know what options you have, and what others have done.

Yes. For the off season rate on the second check in.
