what posters did you have

I had something like 50 Shaun Cassidy posters on my walls. One Christmas, one of my sister's friends got a 4'X4' window poster from his record store of the "Born Late" album cover---I was in heaven. That one had to be nailed up, since it was styrofoam.

Once I grew out of Shaun, nothing really went back up on the walls. Mom offered to paint my room a new color and the deal was that I couldn't put anything else on the walls. So I started scrapbooking my favorites--Tommy Shaw was the guy I had the most pictures of then!

My faves were Shawn Cassidy, Parker Stevenson and Andy Gibb. I saw that special with Leif Garrett in--how sad what a loser he turned out to be.

I started out with Duran Duran, Wham, Corey Hart, all the British guys that were so hot in the 80's, then when I got to high school it changed to Poison, Skid Row (Sebastian Bach is still hot), Guns n Roses, Motley Crue (Tommy was always my favorite, got to meet him and Heather Locklear once), Cinderella, Def Leppard,Slaughter, you get the picture! lol

This is embarrasing now. I had the poster of Peter Frampton - you know the picture from the album "Frampton Comes Alive". But I also had a black velvet picture (yes like the Elvis ones) of KISS!!!! I got it in Mexico after haggling for $5.00. I don't know how I slept in the same room with That!

I was really, really lucky. I had artsey friends. One entire wall was painted with a beach/palm tree/sunset painting, one wall was painted with a design off a Dave Mason album, the other wall was painted like a lime green color and just had little ocean pictures on it. BUT -------------------- if you opened my closet, on the back of the door you'd find a poster of 7 time Olympic Gold medalist (for swimming), Mark Spitz.

I remember NKOTB and Jonathan Brandis posters/pictures/calendars on my walls. I am sure there were others but can't think of any offhand, I guess those crushes must not have been enough to remember wall coverings with their images!!

Ok, I had a huge 9 foot Peter Gabriel one (it went from top of the wall to the floor)


Then I had a Robert Smith Siouxsie Sue , about the same size but a little smaller.

I had a picture of Sting with his shirt off, in boxers shaving, looking at himself in the mirror.. Whoo!!!!!

I had Sid Vicioius.

I had a Sid & Nancy Movie poster


I had quotes all over my room as well.

One was a Frank Zappa one I loved... "There will never be any nuclear war. There is too much real estate involved"


I had a Cure poster. I had a U2 poster.

I had freehand abstract art that I drew as well.

I hate People, People hate me.. Mean People suck and such like that. I also took out Magazines and did words and made my own sayings... (it looked like a bunch of ransom notes I guess, looking back now)


Postcards and larger pictures of Robert SMith, Kate Bush, and some other artists. I think I had Bauhaus and Love and Rockets as well.

I know I had a nice shot of Morissey as well.

I'm so old we didn't HAVE posters.


I made my own "posters" out of fingerpaints and slabs of wood. I proudly hung the "poster" I painted...that group of guys with long hair that were from somewhere farrrr away...and they used to sing stupid songs about Silver Hammers, Strawberry Fields (FOREVER!), and Walruses (goo goo g'joob, anyone?).

Duran Duran, Talking Heads, the Fixx, Prince, a big photo poster of a peace sign, the Cure, Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin, so many because my musical taste varied!!

Did anyone have any "black light" posters? I used to LOVE them! LOL
