What possessions that are in your home dont belong to you?

This is an odd question, but I will bite.

My niece has an antique armoire and maybe 12 boxes of dishes/tableware she thrifted for her 30th birthday party a few years ago. She lived with us for a couple of years to save money for a down payment on a house, she has purchased the home and is in the process of DIY renovations. I am **assuming** once she is done, she will come get her stuff. Until then, we have the space without any major issues.

I always have random kids clothing and swimsuits here that get left behind by kids friends and my nieces and nephews. I have a cubby by the front door that I make all the adults check before they leave. Socks I gave up on and after a while just throw those away.

My daughter sold or gave away almost everything she owned, house, car, clothing, furniture, and moved to Germany. Got rid of our guest bedroom bed and dresser, and put her bed and dresser there. Her desk top computer is boxed up in the closet, lots of clothing, the stuffed rabbit she has slept with since birth was left behind.
And we still have a bunch of our son's stuff and he moved out 11 years ago.
Drives my wife nuts, but we have the room to store it. Heck, when my mom passed away, I still have stuff in my old room and I had moved out 31 years earlier.

Grandmother-in-law gave us something precious of hers. DH didn't want to take it because he is afraid us getting it would lead to family dissention if they found out, but I saw that it was causing GIL painful memories (it was given to her by her partner, who has since passed). I offered to hold it for her in safe keeping until her will clarifies everything. I will wear it once - to her funeral - and then keep it safe again until her great-granddaughter (my DD) is an adult. Then she can have it.

90% of the items/furniture in my garage belong to my parents that they haven't dealt with since they moved to Florida.

When our younger son worked on Princess Cruises for 4 years, he left lots of stuff at our house. Problem is, he's been in New York City for about 9-10 years and the stuff's still here, "the stuff" being a couple of his trumpets, high school letter jacket, a bistro set, his collection of photos, CDs, etc. from the summer he worked the 50th anniversary at Disneyland, various sheet music, music books, and CDS he's or his friends made.

We have some of our grandson's toys for when he comes over. We also have some of his newborn stuff in our attic just in case there are other grandbabies.

Tupperware that we forget to return.

Random camping equipment/clothes from scouts in our troop, discovered while unpacking the truck. Half goes unclaimed. I’ve scored some nice headlamps this way.

Tupperware that we forget to return.
Get older and the problem reverses itself!
Tupperware disappears into relatives’ homes to be replaced by takeout containers and soft spread containers, lol.

There are many many pictures of unknown to me babies given to my mother by friends and distant family. I’d really like to dispose of them but it just seems disrespectful. And so they sit waiting to be identified. Sighhhh. Yeah but I did take them out of the oh so cute frames decorated with toys and painted macaroni; a bridge too far for me.

Other than maybe a few containers or reusable bags left behind at our last family party, nothing. We either bought or inherited everything.
