Which pins do better in value later, just the LE"s or passholders or special events? Certain characters, etc? Just wondering.

So far we only have...
Passholder Lanyards w/ Lk 1 1/2 card on them
Hockey Grumpy
Build A Pin
Tink Passholder
Tink/Hook Villantines Day 2004
Belle and Beast EPCOT Flower Passholder Pin

Any pins I should be on the look out for if I get some to trade?

Kind of depends on the collector but overall it appears that events and holiday pins retain their value more than a fancy LE. This of course is a highly unscientific poll based on what I am usually looking for.

Collect only what you like. Don't make the mistake MOST of us :wave2: do. ;)
I think one reson why Stitch is so popular is because those who don't collect him know how ga-ga those who do collect him get.
It use to be a sure decent trader was anything Tink or Pooh.
Pooh is still popular. But Tink and Stitch seem to rule right now.
I think ther best traders are from special events or LE500 surprise park pins.
Event pins can be tricky too. I have some from the Lights, Pins event that still are not traded. They are low LE's, and I have had trade offers. But not for anything that even came close to their LE size, and sometimes cost (for the boxed sets).

Collect what you like, not because you think it will appreciate in value. At the beginning, it seemed we were collecting everything! Now most (if not all) of us collect specific pins (tinkerbell, stitch, resorts, vacation club, wdcc, etc.). Some of the older pins have retained their value, but many have not. There are only a few which have appreciated in value.

Maybe 50 years from now, some of our pins will be worth something. I can only hope.

I started collecting Disney pins in 2002 and so far have filled 6 lanyards and two other lanyard type belts -am I out of control or what! lol! I started with whatever I visited first, then the pins from characters I knew as a kid (way long ago, ahem), and now am into states series. My DH just rolls his eyes and says ok. If I put them all on I wouldn't be able to stand up!:hyper:
