What perks would you like to see?

I have been thinking about a common concern people have with DVC and that is the perks...what perks would you like to see DVC give?

I can think of some that would go a long way in increasing my park satisfaction and have minimal if any costs to Disney: It would be important that these are only available to actual members with the blue membership card in hand.

1. Preferred seating at shows and parades. The section doesn't have to be huge and it can be first come first served but it would be nice to have. (they could even do this like DL does and you get a ticket book when you check in and only get one per stay per show/parade)

2. Designated parking spaces at shared resorts

3. 15 month APs

4. Extra FP card: given to members (not guests or rentals) good for the length of their stay that gives an extra FP opportunity - works just like a park ticket and has the same restrictions as a regular FP

5. Free park hoppers on any ticket

I am sure there is some logistical reason that people will have to flame me for even suggesting them but I thought it would be fun to see what people would think would be a great low cost perk DVC could give us!

Your list is nice. I would add that I would *love* being able to book ADRs, tours, and other activities a month before the window opens to the general public if staying on points. Most of us have booked our trips at least 7 months in advance, so it would be great to be able to get those high-demand restuarants and activities without fighting with everyone else (although I will say that Disney moving the ADR window back to 180-days was great news to me).

How about ...

• Bonus Time. The ability to book cash reservations at the cost of dues within 30 days of travel. Restricted, perhaps, to one's home resort(s).
• Reduced # of points for "last minute" exchanges. Suggest: any RCI exchange requested w/in 45-days of travel will be charged only 106 DVC points + $95 exchange fee regardless of destination unit size/season. (Note: 106 points is based on exchange cost of Studio in low season.)
• Ability to view exchange options online. We had this on II ... I'd like to see it added to RCI.
• Ability to view DVC availability online. Even if we can't book it -- I'd sure like to view online w/out having to phone.

Of course, I love the suggestions for fast passes and an edge on ADR reservation windows.

This would be great! it would take a bit of investment to get it up - and it would need the neccessary disclaimers that the inventory can change minute to minute, but think of the phone calls it would save! That's got to be good for both DVC and the members in the long run.

How about updating the online infor for DVC members?

I think the AP discount is golden and I'd hate to lose that, but I can see a day when we won't be traveling enough to warrant the AP even with the discount. Park pass discounts would keep Disney keep us spending money on site. I have access to another theme park which will not be mentioned here as my parents are temp workers over there simply for that perk & they are a little ticked that we haven't taken them up on free tickets yet hehe.

Dream perks:

50% off Spa Services would be nice, but I doubt I'd step foot in a park again

... OK, let's toss in Free admission to MVMCP & MNSSHP

adding the Fast Pass idea you all have too - I love that one and miss the days where I could stop by the DVC office for a tour & current pricing and get these.

I don't consider better communication between DVC and members a perk. I think it's mandatory. If some of these folk out there mailing out member information at the last moment, or 4 months after the fact were under my management, they would have been let go of long ago. DVC needs to get it's act together.

I haven't read all of these yet but I would LOVE to see some type of perk for the park passes. Not everyone gets AP's. It would be nice to get a DVC discount on park passes or no charge for adding the NON EXP. feature to them. Something related to regular park passes would be a nice perk.

I have always said that some type of FP card we could use each day for like 2 rides or something. I would take anything...ONE FP a day.

more than 10% off boat rentals, used to be 25% as i remember it

I think some nice perks they could offer would be things like:

* TiW purchase without being Passholder
* Ability to buy the cheaper FL resident seasonal passes with blackout dates
* I'd like to see them start to rotate the member parties (Merry Member Mixer) to other times of the year. If the DVC resorts are designed to be sold-out nearly all year, why just parties during that one 4-5 week window of time?
* Some discount on all services (rentals, dining) at the resort where one is staying. (Of course this doesn't make much business sense since that's where members are most likely to spend their $$$ in the first place.)
* I'm not a DDP fan but it seems like they could offer a small discount to members

No flames intended but I don't see DVC members ever getting anything like early ADR privileges or extra FastPasses. Remember Disney has to answer to millions of non-DVC guests as well. If DVC members have first crack at booking LeCellier dinner reservations or getting extra FastPasses for Toy Story Mania, it diminishes the experience for thousands of other guests. I don't see any way Disney would consider doing that.

A few months ago I had a conversation with my Guide regarding those instant FastPasses they use as tour incentives. He spoke about how closely Disney guards those things. They may put a couple hundred of them into circulation on any given day. But we're at a point where there are more than 10,000 DVC members at WDW on any given day....and growing.

I think a discount on park tickets and or free park hopper would be smart for them to do. If your there they make more money if you are going to the parks. It doesn't have to be much but anything would be great.

Many good ideas. However, knowing DVD I am setting my sights low:

1. Please, please, please, let us keep the perks we have even though I know management must meet at least thrice daily to discuss how they can take away more things from DVC members without telling the members about it until a member shows up somewhere to use the perk and finds out it is gone.

2. Bring back free valet.

3. Get a search engine on the website that will actually find something you are looking for.

4. Management actually gives straight answers to questions when they are asked instead of prepared gobbily gook that says nothing.

5. Ban Jim Lewis from ever again using the words "to enhance the membership experience."

Discount on Park tickets, for both us and any family staying with us would be the ultimate. I think now I'm just trying to plan on not going but every 2-3 years, but then going 3 times a year to maximize the value of AP's. The downside to that is burnout, and then long periods with no vacations. Now a discount at more merchandise locations would make me buy more. I know im more reluctant to spend at WDW than I ever was at DL. I think in a few years I may just buy a ton of no experation tickets and keep them somewhere safe. With ticket prices going up, it may be the best long term option.
