I was thinking of asking DH for new perfume for Christmas. He got me Mariah Carey's Luscious Pink year before last and I really liked it. The problem is that I have trouble finding things I like and things that are different. For instance, I went shopping this weeknd and stopped at the fragrance counter. I sampled (on a card) Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue, Juicy Couture something (Viva something something...?), and Marc Jacobs Daisy. The DG one I liked but then....I realized it kind of reminded me of the Mariah Carey one. It isn't exactly the same but it has some of the same notes or something. I also liked Marc Jacobs but, again, it reminded me of another perfume I just don't remember what! LOL
I have had this happen with several perfumes in the last year. I try them, think WOW that smells good, and then realize that it smells very similar to an older fragrance. I'm trying to not be picky but I don't really want a bunch of perfumes that smell alike or even similar. I'm going to try SJP's Lovely and Jessica Simpson's Fancy this weekend. I'm hoping they go with different "notes" from what I have already.
I have worn Design (meh), Liz Claiborne (a classic but I wore it for YEARS and kind of burned out on it), and Juicy Couture (nice but I found it overwhelming plus several people at work wore it.) I also have small bottles of Amazing Grace and Inner Grace by Philosophy. I really like to use them here and there to break up the cycle. Anyway, I just wondered what other women wore and if they love it or just tolerate it because they haven't found something better?
Here we are on a Disney site and no one's said Laila yet, so I will.
I bought a bottle of Laila Pink in Norway at Epcot this summer, and it is heavenly.Since I probably won't be back to Florida when I need more, I'll probably order it on-line. Nordstrom sells regular Laila, but not the Pink version which I prefer since it lasts longer.
As I said earlier up-post I'm not a perfume wearer, it usually gives me headaches. On my last girls trip they all wanted to go into the perfume shop in France. Ugh. i usually avoid that place because it's so strong in there. But I went in and decided to smell a few. That's when I found Play for Her. I fell in love.
When I went back a few weeks later with my husband I actually dragged him in to smell it.I didn't buy any but I did there prices were pretty much on par with what I was finding it for in the stores here. One of these days I'll get some.
When we were last at Epcot, I tried the J'Adore scent that SaraJayne mentioned upthread in the French perfume shop. It's very nice, and if I didn't love Laila so much, I'd want to buy it.
IMO, the best deals on fine fragrances are at department stores when they offer a free gift with purchase. I'd look for Play for Her there if I were you, especially with the holidays coming. Lots of times they'll offer 2 and 3 piece sets of perfume or body creme or wash for free with any purchase.
I bought my bottle at the perfume shop in France at Epcot. The free bottle engraving sucked me in.
When I bought it, I also received a free travel size bottle, which is perfect for ~ traveling!![]()
