My dad is retired military, so he has access to shopping on military bases. He's closest to Red Stone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL. I've seen that military receive discounts on MYW passes and annual passes. We are interested in APs or PAPs for our next trip. Does anyone know if these are available at bases? If not, can my dad call SOG to place a mail order for passes, or do you have to purchase them in person?

Any info is greatly appreciated.

Christy

We purchased APs two years ago and at that time we had to get them (vouchers) in person at the SOG ticket office.

I don't know if you are eligible for the military discount. IF you are married, you're not considered a military dependant anymore. Unless your hubby is military. I think your father could purchase it but I think you will have to show a valid ID card to pick it up. :earsgirl:

My DD is getting ours AP @ AF base In CO.
You can buy any of the passes.
They do have to order some of the passes in.
Takes about a week.

Thanks for the info. I know that I can't go to the base & purchase passes. But I know that my dad can buy them if they're available. He refuses to go to WDW with us, as he hates theme parks. That's why I wondered if he could get them at the base where he & my mom shop anyway.

Yes ,he can get them from the base or order them from shades of Green.
my mom a widow bought our tickets last year. we later bought tickets for the water parks at shades of Green. (she was with us on the trip)
their website is shadesofgreen.org

you can email me privately if you want.. trvlbug@gmail.com

I work at Redstone and recently tried to get Annual Passes for our family of 4 and they do not sell them. I even went as far as having them try to special order them and they called me back several days later to tell me they couldn't.

If you are not looking for annual passes, they have great discounts on MYW tickets. I have a price list from Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville. If you let me know which options you are interested in I can PM you.

You can also get Water park tickets etc. thru the Redstone MWR.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for all the info, everyone! We haven't decided for certain, but are looking at APs for my DH & me, as we might go alone for our 15th anniversary after taking a trip with the kids. But we would for sure need MYW tickets for the kids.

JPRCH, thanks for the info regarding Redstone. I've been on that base before, but it's been awhile. I am a graduate of UAH, and when I was a military dependent, I would go on base. I also did a lot of research at RSIC. So, it's great to hear from someone "back home." Are the prices at Redstone the same military prices listed on allearsnet.com? If not, I'd like the prices for child 7-day, with comparison of base, hopper, and premium. We'd probably only go to Blizzard Beach or Tyhpoon Lagoon once, so is it cheaper to get the premium MYW ticket or to get the separate water park ticket through the base? I appreciate your time & effort in helping me gather this info. I look forward to hearing from you.
