UGH I cant stand pushy people who come to my door trying to sell me stuff. Normally they dont come here but we has some guy here just now trying to sell me books of some sort. he said he was selling great resource books that would help kids in XXXX ( name of area elementary school) school through XXXXX ( name of area HS).
He said he was from Australia ( I think) and acted lke because he was from there I should listen to him.

I said " No thanks" " no thanks" and "No THANKS" he kept pushing and pushing and I was still talking after I closed the door.

Does this bug anyone as much as it does me?

What really bugs me is when you have a no soliciting sign on the door and they ignore it. It seems that no one knows what that means anymore.

I totally agree! I had some high school boys try to sell me magazines last night and when I said No, they became very rude and said a couple of lewd things! I could not believe it!

I also got the one where they try to sell you books for your kids - cause we all know - those books will make our children straight A students! rofl!

I say no thank you - I'm not interested once. Then its NO and the door closes. Talk to the door or leave.

A woman in NJ was killed by a teenage door-to-door salesman recently. Better to not even answer your door.

When I was home after having oral surgery some folks came buy selling discount pizza coupons. The kids answered the door and said these people needed to talk to me. I drug my drugged self to the door and said no thanks. They kept up. I said I'd just had oral surgery. They didn't care. They wanted to sell me a pizza for that night. I told them I couldn't eat. They didn't care. Took me forever to get rid of them.

I always stand in the doorway holding on to the dog's collar as if the dog was about to get away from me. They tend to leave quicker that way.

What they don't know is the dog is a 14 yr old black lab with a bad hip who just wants to say hello or get out the front door.

We had the education book girl in our neighborhood last sunday morning. She was knocking on doors at 8:00 AM

All my friends and family know to phone before dropping by. I NEVER answer my door if someone isn't expected.....even in the middle of the day. Another thing, if someone knocks at my front door, I know it's someone who doesn't know me.

I just say "no" and close the door. I gave up many years ago, trying to let them down "easily". You can't do it, and the nicer you try to be, the more they keep trying to sell you.

I admire them for at least trying to make a living but I just say "no".

I open the window beside the door so I don't have to
open the door. Safer and easier to shut fast.
