Hi everyone! We are heading down to Florida in April, doing a couple of beach days and then also doing a US/IOA day..No disney :(

We will probably do a waterpark (maybe I can sneak Disney in there somehow)...but need some other things to do not park related...any ideas?? NO shopping, my son would shoot me. Something that would keep an impatient 14 year old busy...lol..

Wet and Wild usually has a buy one day, get the rest of your stay for free water park ticket. I also have done airboat rides, Old Town, Zip Line ride, and recently did one of the air tours where they fly over the area and one member of your party can take over the controls and fly the plane while in the air. We let DS10 do it, and he had a blast!!!

We are happy going to the movies in DTD. Just down with a bunch of people and one family spent 2 nights going to the IMax theater. They also enjoyed going to a go kart place. Quite a few people went to play mini golf.

<Does not compute. Error at [no disney]>

Those airboat swamp tour things are supposed to be pretty good.

Ripleys Believe It or Not Museum was kind of cool, at least I thought it was.

Are there any pro games in the area?? Football or whatever???

SeaWorld
Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum
SkyVenture (indoor sky diving)

are a few of the other things we've done in Orlando. We usually have a car and have ventured out of Orlando and also done Kennedy Space Center, Daytona Beach, Busch Gardens, Clearwater Beach, an airboat ride in the everglades. There's lots to do/see in central Florida.

I know...I'm having a hard time with this too, but "I" am the only one that wants to do Disney:(

So..no parks..

I haven't been to Ripley's in years! That would be a definite on the list:)

The airboat swamp thing sounds interesting...we will definitely go bowling too.

thanks everyone!

We are also looking into things to do outside of the parks next April. Our DD will be 16 at the time so we are probably looking at similar type adventures. Here are a few links that I have found that might be of interest. Keep in mind I haven't actually done any of these yet, but they look interesting and would suit us well so I thought I would share.

Gatorland!!

How can you not go to gatorland. My kids and DH insist on going here every trip.
I think a 14 yr old would love it

Gatorland!!
I agree with Hannathy. We went there 2 years ago and surprisingly really liked it.

Also, they may be closed at that time of year, but we took a driving tour of spring training baseball stadiums. It was interseting.
