We are only spending four days (before our three nite Wonder cruise :cool1: ) and we don't like to rush around. Therefore, which park besides MK is your fav and why? We have a five year old boy, so we are trying to decide which other park will be the best for all of us big and little kids. We are also considering Universal and/or IOA. Thanks!

that we went to Sea World on our last trip (1/04) and we don't see the need to go again this trip. AK is a thought, but we have a really good zoo here in St Louis, and alot of folks from here have said they felt it wasn't worth the money and their kids were underwhelmed due to growing up around our zoo, but it is still on the list. Thanks!!

Definitely UO! Both USF and IOA are awesome. With a five-year-old, I would lean toward USF, but, if you big kids like coasters and thrill rides, IOA is a must see. The theming is incredible and they have what, IMHO, is the best and most-advanced attraction in the world, Spiderman. Universal does offer a one-day, two-park ticket if you are going during off-season and think you can do both parks in the same day.

For us it would be Epcot because myself, DH and DD love it there. My DD has been going to The World every year since she was 2 and she is now 7 and has always loved Epcot.

DD especially loves going into The World Showcase to visit the countries and make her mask at The Kidcot Fun Stops.

Whatever you choose - I hope you have a great trip!!

I'd go with Animal Kingdom. There is a lot for little ones to see and do there.

EPCOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Use your fastpasses wisely!

I would avoid both AK and EPCOT. AK is a very small and if you have a zoo hear you, best ignore it. EPCOT may be a little dull for a 5 year old boy. There is a lot of walking involved in that park.

I would agree IoA would be the best choice. Your boy loves Spider-man right? I mean, ever boy/man loves Spidey! :charac4: There is a lot to do and its different to Disney in a good way. I am sure he'd love meeting the Marvel heroes. The Jurassic Park ride is great fun and Dr Seuss island would have a lot to offer. I love this park.

Yikes! Animal Kingdom is not a zoo! I go to the Cleveland Metropolitan Zoo and the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Gardens every year and they are NOTHING like the Animal Kingdom. :confused3

While I don't think you can go wrong with any of the parks with so many fun things for kids at all of them, my vote goes to Animal Kingdom. I think its the most little kid friendly after MK. And the nice thing is how it manages to be very adult friendly too. We have a great zoo near us but, to me, there's small comparison between AK and a zoo. Plus The Lion King Show is absolutely about the most not-miss attraction on the property!

If you're gearing it toward the 5yo, I would strongly suggest Epcot, which I think gets underrated for kids too often. It is my sons' fav park after MK. They were almost three yo and just six yo last visit. They like all the interactive stuff in FW, even if they don't completely get what it does. They love Figment and Spaceship Earth. Turtle Talk with Crush is not to be missed.

Then in WS, they loved making the masks, and any attention they got from the CM's. The woodcarver in the Africa kiosk let them try the tools. They loved the miniature train. We didn't do passport stamps, but I'm sure they would have liked that too, since they liked the masks so much. The only drawback is, it's a lot of walking. You might consider a stroller rental if the 5yo would go for it.

I would choose Disney Studios. There is a lot of activities for a 5 year old and you can find quite a few characters there too. We just got back and we went to DS on 3 separate days (for only a portion of each day) and it had something to offer for all of my boys ages 10, 8 and 3. It is also my dh's favorite park.

I would do IOA and Universal studios, Disney's-MGM. My DD's love these parks. They have been doing them since they were five now 20 and 17yrs old. They only like the front of Epcot not the world showcase part. Or if you don't want to do two studios skip Universal studis and go to Sea World the day you would have gone to US. Have fun and enjoy the cruise.

My DS5 loves Epcot, and has done since he was 3. He likes Test Track and the new Soarin ride, and is also very happy to walk around World Showcase. So I think it's all down to what you think your kid might like. I would say AK would be a good bet. Perhaps get the planning video from Disney and ask you son what he thinks looks more interesting. AK has some great shows, and the animal walks are really good. DS is always a complete pain when we go to Disney Studios for some reason. Though he did love the new car stunt show.

Someone mentioned Spiderman, personally for me (not criticizing, promise!) I feel my son (note I said my son not 5 year old generally!!) is still a little too young for Spidey and Power Ranger type things. Though he knows who a lot of the superheroes are (I read a lot of comic books, it's tough for him to avoid them in this house) it wouldn't be such a big draw for him. Don't forget there are a lot more height restrictions at Universal, as the rides are more thrill than at Disney. So check that he can go on the things you think he will want to, just to avoid the disappointment.

We are doing a land/sea thing too. We are at Disney for 3 nights, we are going to stick to MK and Epcot (the food & wine festival is on!)

Definately go to MGM. I have 6&3 yr old boys and they loved it.
There are tons of characters from their favorite movies (Buzz, Woody, Jesse, Sully, Mike, Incredibles, Little Mermaid, etc) There are also many cool restaurants there. My kids loved Pizza Planet and Sci-Fi Theater.
They enjoyed the Great Movie Ride, Muppets Theater, Playhouse Disney, and Honey,I Shrunk the Kids Playground.

Any children we have traveled with were terribly bored at Epcot and loved AK. I agree with an earlier poster---it is most definately not just another zoo. The shows, attractions and animal and character interaction are great. The kids also loved the boneyard!
