What % off is AP code AZB?

We went last Oct, and AP rates were sold out for the values for my dates within minutes of release, so we didn't get one (even though I was on the phone at 6:58 am). Last Sept, there were no AP discounts (we didn't go then). We are going this Sept, and I am hoping there is some sort of AP discount. I would be happy with the 70 or 90 some of you are getting, as that would pay for at least a meal. Anything is better than the nothing we got last year :(

As for the implication that I'm illogical, I politely disagree. What is illogical, is the fact that WDW has departed from its manner of discounts since the days of the Magic Kingdom Club, which has always been to offer percentage discounts. And while WDW is certainly a business, and does not need to give discounts, due to the fact that discounts (and sometimes deep) are given, one would have to assume that rack rate prices are inflated in order to give discounts in the first place, just like mark-up on anything else.

I am just glad they are offering "room only" discounts at all. We have DVC and I buy park-hoppers or AP's, depending on our plans for the year. We add on nights to conserve our DVC points. I was worried about all the discounts going to "packages" that involve 7 nights or more plus tix. We are going to the Wilderness Lodge villas in July for 6 nights, and for well under $200 we are stretching our vacation with 2 nights at the Carribean Beach Resort. I'm happy!

Yes, they gave percentages, and if I recall correctly, the percentages were lower for the mods than for the deluxes. So really, nothing has changed. And since the MKC model apparently wasn't working for WDW, they decided to change it.

I didn't post to start a debate. I posted to express my opinion on the discounts compared with the past. Period.

The maximum percentage is usually around 38% off, it is rarely 45%.

If the AP's had a 38% discount this time we could save an extra $700:eek: Major bummer!!!!!!!!
I got this off of Mousesavers.
there is no guarantee that the same level of discount will be offered from one year to the next. In fact, as tourism is recovering, it is more and more likely that the discounts will be less.
I'm pushing my comfort level of how much I would spend to stay at WDW. I'm lucky that our other trips this yr are work related;)

I'm just the WDW planner for my family:teeth: My dh has upcoming conferences in Orlando in Oct., Nov. and April. The one in Oct is at the Swan. :smooth:

We were just about to book the CSR for September using AAA rates when the 7/5 came out. We booked that instead, but only saved about $100.00. The way we look at it, $100.00 is better than nothing. We were going no matter what we paid, so we are happy with that. We will keep watching to see if AP rates come out for September and see if that saves us any more, but if not, we are still happy with what we have. :hyper:

Last year with AP for Jul 1-8 we paid $199 plus tax ($222) for Poly gv- this year for July4-11 we are paying $229plus tax($255) I called to book Jul 5-12 instead and was told it would be $266 with the tax- so it is actually less of a discount for the value season than the regular season.

Yes this year the across the board discount of $85 while nice and appreciated is not as much of a savings as past AP rates that were a higher percentage off. As someone else stated the higher price the room the savings is less, percentage wise.

Also I find it interesting that they offered a percentage off the deluxe rooms for discounts up to July 4, but after they offered the $85 off. Makes me wonder why the difference.

Not complaining, always glad to get any discount, but curious as to why the change from previous percentage off.

The poly is $299 during value season rack rate- $85 off should be $214 plus tax. I was quoted $266 a night which is more than it should be if it was $85 off. Maybe they are not all $85 off.

:D We got a pool view room at the AKL for $135. The rate on the official web site is $245, so our discount is about 45%. Not bad!!

Exactly, this is a wonderful discount. If you want to stay at the Grand Floridian or Polynesian the savings while good, is much less.

Enjoy your stay at the AKL.

Perhaps not 45%, but the max certainly isn't 38% either. We're getting 42% off our rooms at POFQ this August, and there was also a 42% discount on WL standard view rooms.

Polyfan- We are staying July 5-July 10 at Poly GV. Our rate is $214 plus tax (roughly $239). The rate you are quoted is the rate with the AP code for the first half of the summer. It sounds like the CM didn't properly change the codes in her system to look up the rate for Value Season.
