I'm not sure if this has been asked previously, but I'm curious to find out what percentage of everyone's Florida vacation is actually spent at the Disney Parks?

As much as we like WDW, we usually only spend about 5 days at the Disney Parks during our entire trip (15 days total).

We did go to the parks every day, but some days, it was only for an hour or two and then we went back to the hotel. Even on the days we were at the parks the longest, it was only from opening until about 1-1:30 and then we'd go swim.

Our next trip will be more like yours--we're planning on going for 10 days, but only spend about 6 in the parks and relax the other 4.

Well for our trips it goes generally like this:

Day 1: arrive, just hang around hotel and DTD
Day 2,3,5,6: Disney parks
Day 4: rest day
Day 7: Leave

We usually never do anything the first or last day because of our flight times. We would barely be able to get a 1/2 day in and I don't think its worth it.

we are planning on doing this every day- I felt buying a 7 day ticket brought the price down enough, want to use the pool and rest , before heading out for dinner.
:goodvibes

100%! We go to the parks every day even if just for a couple of hours. Maybe when my girls are a little older we will skip a day, but for now we go every day!

Our theme park days have drastically changed over the past 6 years.

When we started going to WDW as a couple we were theme park commandos. Opening to closing every day. Had to get everything out of every trip. Wasn't very restaurant savvy at this point. And being poor students didn't really have the money to eat at expensive restaurants. The only reason we stayed on site was because my sister was a CM.

As we became more seasoned we really started to take our time and have a "relaxing" vacation. We would sleep in, stroll around the parks, only hit the attractions we really liked, etc. We began to appreciated the resorts/restaurants more. Still, though, we generally went to the parks everyday.

We then moved to Florida (short drive to WDW), and DS was born. Because of proximity and having a newborn, our trips changed again. We basically just walk around the theme parks, eat, and maybe do a baby swap for 1 ride. We take our time eating, and really hang out at the resorts more. For these reasons we really love YC/BC and Epcot.

I can foresee a few more WDW vacation transitions as the family grows:

1. Kids get older and want to hit the parks hard.
2. Kids grow and want to go the parks by themselves or with friends, DW and I get to go back to doing what we want to do :teeth:
3. Kids are gone, grandkids are in the picture, and the whole cycle starts again.

I love WDW

My theme park traveling has changed also. The first time I went it was off site - I will never make that mistake again. Then it was my now ex-dh and I and were at the parks everyday from open to close. Then there were a couple trips with various family members where we did what they wanted to. Last year dd and I started our annual mom/dd trips and we went to the parks everyday - taking a rest this afternoon. This year we have built a non-park day. Which in the past I had thought was a waste but not anymore. We will still head back to the hotel in the afternoon to refresh with a nap and swim and then off to the parks. On our non park day I have the princess Tea schedule for dd (one of my surprises for her) and the rest of the day is to rest and actually enjoy the hotel! DD is not able to go commando style and after so many trips I feel that is not really worth it. We each make a list of what we really want to see/do at each park and then just relax and enjoy oursleves as we get those things done. We just enjoy ourselves much more this way.

Last trip we took a day off in the middle and went to Coco Beach. This time it will be all Disney all the time. Yee ha

We apend about 95% at Wdw parks the other 5% is shopping,dd, and sleep. :p

100% I have no desire to do anything else there. I go to Florida for WDW.

We go the parks for 4 days in a row then take a break and go the in-laws house. We have 3 kids I think that makes a difference for us. :thumbsup2

I go about 75% Disney, including the theme parks, Downtown Disney, sometimes Pleasure Island, maybe a movie at the AMC theater, and lots of resort hopping.

I also like to go to Universal for at least one day (two days if my trip is a full week), and I spend some time visiting the Disney outlets, some of the local flea markets, and maybe a few strip shopping centers.

It's been quite a while since I went to either SeaWorld or Kennedy Space Center; I'm hoping to get back to KSC next year.

Well, since we have APs we typically go to the parks every day, though we don't spend the whole day in them.

We do a little under 50%. On both travel days no Disney. On remaining days we do one day on - one day off. With little ones we find that way they dont get too tired out (nor us!)

We're going for 9 nights - bought the 10 day park hopper with water park option and doing nothing but Disney (it's the first trip for us together as a family). We're renting a villa offsite with a private screened in heated pool :woohoo:

We spend about 95% of our time at the parks. We also get to Downtown Disney when we go to Florida. Since we live in Indiana, I want to spend as much time at the parks as possible. We also have never gone for more than 6 days at a time. We do take breaks in the afternoons to rest or swim. Staying onsite really is nice with the EMH. :sunny:

I would say that out of 100% vacation, usually about 18 days in total.

60% is spent in the parks, 20% is spent eating, 10% each for sleeping and shopping.

100% Until this year! 80% 1 day @ Kennedy Space Center & 1 day visiting old freind fron HS!
