What number to call if assigned room is not what you hoped for?

We are flying out tomorrow night. Won't arrive at POP Century until after midnight, so should get a "room ready" text before we leave.
If we are not happy with the assignment, what number should we call? There are so many WDW numbers!
We actually did this last year. We were still at our airport waiting to board when we got the text and it was not even close to what we were hoping for (not the area we wanted and 3rd floor when we had a wheelchair). DH called and a super helpful guy got us a room perfect for us. Unfortunately I can't remember what number he called.

You don't call anyone. You go to the front desk upon arrival and have it changed.

^^ I agree, someone is always at the front desk. They can let you know of any options regarding room assignment.

The room ready text will say “For Further Assistance, call xxx-xxx-xxxx”

I’m assuming this is a call center number like nearly every “contact the resort” number our there, but it’s your best resource if you want to discuss your assignment from afar.

Okay, but that will be 2 AM. We literally did that exact thing last year, so I know it's possible, just wondering if anyone knew what number would work.

Ah, makes sense, THANK YOU!!

note...if you are using magic express.....they have your flight arrival times..... in my experience, even when we arrive very late, the room text is received while we are in the air, or just as we land.

So don't count on knowing your room early. it does not always happen that way.

This. We've used the number given in the room ready text twice and gotten switched to rooms we like better with no issues.
In our case both times it was the second part of a split stay and we didn't want to waste time in the morning going to the other resort to sort things out.

...when we got the text and it was not even close to what we were hoping for (not the area we wanted and 3rd floor when we had a wheelchair). ...

I'm not sure I understand the part bolded... what resort? Almost all the resorts have elevators, and any resort with 3+ floors has an elevator. Keep in mind that requests are never guaranteed, so they may not be able to move you. But if you receive a room-ready text, it will have a number to call if you so choose.

Enjoy your vacation!
