What not to waste time on?

For all the WDW veterans what are some things that absolutely not worth the time and money?

I'm planning our trip and trying to stream line it as much as possible. DH becomes such a bear if things don't go smoothly. :scared: So I'm planning, planning, planning! :teacher:

I really want this trip to go smoothly and be memorable so he will take us back at LEAST once a year! :jumping1:

Ahh, to be planning for WDW ... MY Dh is happy when we are not committed to ADR's all over the world (not much fun w/small children who only need 4 minutes to eat anyway), so we will usually schedule 1 or 2 ADR's and that's it. One must do is the Lego Store in DD... there are play tables and tons of legos set up outside for play and minutes or hours of Lego therapy do wonders for ALL!

I think the key to a successful trip is to plan for preparedness but be ready for things not to go as planned. Does that make sense? I guess what I'm saying is don't have a nervous breakdown if you don't make your planned parade because hubby is tired or doesn't want to. You're better off missing something than pushing yourself too hard or forcing someone to do something they'll resent.

As far as things not to waste time on...well, that's a real personal decision because everyone likes different things. The only thing that I have ever done at Disney (in the gazillion times I've been) that I will never do again is Sounds Dangerous. Everything is game, even HOP which so many people think is a snoozefest.

Have fun planning but remember to be flexible where you're there.

I kinda have to agree with the last poster - be prepared for things NOT to go as planned - And, I say this....because......I am a planner. I did way too much planning this time instead of enjoying the spur of the moment things.

For instance, you can have your itinerary set, however, your itinerary probably won't have the unplanned character visits, different music groups, various acts thoughout the parks, mingling with cast members. For instance, while in AK, my daughter played a game of Mancala against a cast member & won! - that was a very fun experience and certainly not planned. And, if we were on our way to an attraction - we would always stop and listen to the band, or wait in line for the characters, etc.

We find we are better off to circle the attractions we want to see and "mosey" on our way. When we go in 2008, I won't be planning anything except for a meal or two that dh really wants.

I think that once you get there, everything will just kinda fall into place.

Remember, it's where dreams come true, it will be awesome!

Have fun!

Also, as said above, it's a personal decision, however.....I wouldn't waste time on the boat ride in Mexico in Epcot. Other than that, we loved it all!

They are rehabbing the Mexico ride this month so maybe they'll add something interesting!:rotfl:

Use your FastPasses!

I agree with the advice to slow down to allow for the little things. We've been going for years and never allowing time for the Candy Lady in Japan. Finally in May we had a few down moments:scared1: and we just happened to walk over to watch her. Wow!!!! The kids were so impressed. Well, I was, too. We are making her a priority stop from now on. I would never have planned to watch someone make candy on a stick because it didn't sound exciting. I was SO mistaken!

Also, if you're doing the planning just act cool the whole time and DH will never know when something isn't going 'to plan'. There are plenty of pleasant time fillers everywhere. Just prop him up in front of one and tell him to enjoy.
