What NOT to pack?

OCgirl, where did you get the Gif in your signature?
The only disney ones I've been able to find are the small avatar kinds

Tumblr! Just search for disney blogs, and there are tons of them. Lots of princess ones, which I love :)

What are the beds like--are they the kind that you could put risers underneath? And whether you do or don't use risers, about how much space (height-wise) is there for rubbermaid containers? (Could I bring my rubbermaid storage containers, or would they be too tall?)

Also, about how big are the closets? I'm dealing with a pretty tiny one now, but I also use a lot of dresser drawer and under the bed storage for my clothes and shoes and bags.

Sorry for all the questions--I'm not a light packer by any means, ESPECIALLY when it comes to clothes, shoes, and beauty products.

Ooh that brings up another question--what's the storage situation in the bathrooms?

You can use risers with the beds. It doesn't end up give you a whole ton of room becuase the beds are really low to the ground without them. If you are talking about those long rectangular kinda flat storage bins you could definitely fit those under your bed. Its been a while so I can't remember if the beds were high enough with risers to fit 2 stacked but you could probably fit 2 side by side not stacked.

I lived in a 2bdrm in Chatham so I can speak to the living spaces in that complex. If you have the smaller of the 2 bedrooms the closet is a walk in but its a small walk in. You will probably have about a foot to a foot and a half of hanging space plus the space under that (if the lockers aren't under it) and the area above that. You will also get a 2 drawer bed side table thing and 3 drawers in the dresser. I brought one of those plastic bins with drawers (the rectangular ones) and put it at the end of my bed and used that for storage. I didn't bring anything for under the bed but I will this time around.

The bath room has a little closet thing that has 5 (ish) shelves. There is of course under the sink and then a small drawer on each side of the sink. There isn't really any room for additional storage bins like the ones with multiple drawers. You might be able to fit a small one in the closet but I'm not sure about that.

Mind you this is all with the smaller room. If you get the bigger room the closet is massive in comparison and the bathroom is bigger too. But there is no way to know what you will get till you get there.

What about a printer?
I'm driving, so it shouldn't be a problem to bring with me if I decide to, but the more room the better. For the record, if accepted I will be taking two or three classes (the credit kind, which I'm assuming do have homework)

Any thoughts?

A printer shouldn't be any problem, I brought my whole desktop computer the first time around.

I'm planning on bringing my desktop, as well...since my desktop is my "media center". Did you have any problem fitting it in your room? I'm planning on using a Powerline Adapter if there's no convenient Ethernet port.

-If I have a purse/tote with my laptop in it, I know that I can still have a carry on, would I be able to have a pillow in addition to that?

A pillow doesn't count as an additional carry on. Any airline who gives you extra hassle for having a purse/tote AND a pillow is just being rude for no good reason.

I bought a cheap desk at Wal-Mart and kept my desktop computer in the livingroom in the corner. It wasn't a problem for my roommates.
