I will be in the parks next month with my Mom and her cousin.I'm 38 and they are both 56.Could you please recommend attractions not to miss for us? I am especially curious about the shows,we could skip anything that was really geared to youngsters. Also, they really want to ride Peter Pan,Dumbo,Alice and the carousel. My original plan was to do Indiana Jones,Splash and Haunted Mansion berore hitting Fantasyland, should I switch? We will be at DL the Monday before Thanksgiving and at DCA on Tuesday. Thanks for your recommendations!:)

Peter Pan & Dumbo you need to do FIRST thing when the park opens, otherwise the wait is intolerable.

I would do them in this order:

Peter Pan
Dumbo
Splash
HMH
Indy
Carousel
Alice

If the park is busy (and it could be Thanksgiving week) you could get a Fastpass for HMH on your way to Splash.

If the park isn't that busy you could do all 4 Fantasyland rides and then head to Splash.

But you really need to do Peter Pan & Dumbo first thing.

I also would be sure to do Pirates, I don't know if you've been to DL before, but Pirates at DL is much better than at WDW.

I also highly recommend lunch at the Blue Bayou (the restaraunt inside Pirates) try to get a waterside table if you can, it's awesome!! True Disney magic!

In DCA be sure to do Soarin' it's good. The Aladin show is also good, that was one of the adults favorite things at DCA.

DCA isn't really a "full" day park (at least IMO) so you could always go back to DL and catch anything you missed the day before.

Hi Eeroyesmom,

I agree with buttercup26, do fantasyland rides first (Dumbo, Peter Pan, Alice and carousel) if these rides are priorities for all of you. However, I would send someone in your group to get fastpasses for all of you at Splash Mountain because this line can be looooong if the park is busy. One ride not to be missed is Pirates of the Carribean! Others your group will enjoy is Thunder Mountain Railroad, Haunted Mansion, Indiana Jones, Star Tours, and "Honey I Shrunk the Audience" which is a riot.

Over at DCA, one person get fastpasses for everyone at Soarin Over California while the rest of the group heads to Hollywood Tower of Terror. Whoever got the fastpasses will catch up with the group over at Tower of Terror. Other attractions you will enjoy are Aladdin The Musical, Muppet Vision 3-D, It's Tough To Be A Bug, Grizzly River Rapids (where a poncho!), Who Wants to be a Millionaire, and if you like roller coasters then ride California Screamin.

Have a great time! :earsgirl:

One overlooked attraction that is especially good for adults is the "President Lincoln" attraction. The train is also a nice break from walking and quite entertaining.

These are great tips. I'm planning a trip with a friend in mid-January - we are just two 40-something women who enjoy Disney. We're actually going to be in Costa Mesa for a business meeting and decided to arrive a couple of days early to "do" Disney.

Should I feel guilty that I'm really looking forward to spending two days at DL *without* my children?!? I have taken them once about three years ago and we've been to WDW once.

Thanks for the reminder about the Blue Bayou restaurant - that will be a great "adult" lunch that I know I would never be able to get my husband to agree to. LOL

Buttercup is correct with the line up of the rides with one exception. When we were there earlier this month, Alice was more crowded than I've ever seen it [with the exception of holidays].

Be sure to make reservations at Blue Bayou. When we were there, they were only taking reservations - no walk ins. Get there first thing in the a.m. -- after Peter Pan, Dumbo, etc. to make your reservations.

A really great show is Billy Hill and the Hillbillies at the Golden Horseshoe in Frontier Land. Really alot of fun.

Alladin was really great. We saw it twice when we were there. And in DCA don't forget the Tower of Terror. We rode it 10 times.
Soaring over California is amazing. You will definitely want a fast pass for that. The standby line is often long and they always take fast pass first.

Whatever you decide to do, you will have a wondeful time.

You'll love Soarin. That's my personal favorite!

Also...I don't see it mentioned, but we really like the Animation building in DCA and Golden Dream.

I agree Golden Dreams is a great adult attraction. I could see it twice a trip ! And everyone needs to spend 20 minutes in the lobby of the animation building.
