So im planning to go to mickey's trick or treat party and this is my first and only time going to California adventures. What rides/shows/goodies are not to be missed. TIA!:thumbsup2

Aladdin the musical is amazing. If you have never done Tower of Terror or Toy Story Mania those are cool too.
And of course Soarin'

The Animation Academy is really cool. Turtle Talk with Crush is in there, along with a fun show where they teach you how to draw a character. It's a great place to go in a rest too! :goodvibes They have the Toy Story Zoetrope in there as well, which I just love. And the Beast's Library, I think it's called?

Don't miss the Toy Story Zoetrope in the Animation Building. For that matter, don't miss the Animation Building. ;) It has Turtle Talk w/Crush, the Drawn To Animation show, and the Sorcerer's Workshop, but I think my 2nd favorite thing in the building is the lobby ("Courtyard Gallery"), which is surrounded by screens continuously showing snippets of Disney animation.

California Screamin' is a great roller coaster...

Of the other attractions that aren't also at WDW I'd say the Boudin Bakery tour is worth a look (and you get a free sample!) and I like the Monsters Inc dark ride, although opinions vary on that.

Soarin' over California!! One of the BEST rides Disney has ever made!!! :)

California Screamin (my fav), TOT, Soarin (Amazing!), Toy Story (have not done it hear yet, but at DW), Bugs Life, and Aladdin is the best.

For us, the Monsters Inc ride is not to be missed. The line and the ride have so many funny details, you can't possibily see them all the first or tenth time. It is tucked in an out of the way place so you have to look for it. Just look for the giant bedroom door. :)

I agree that place is a gem inside DCA :)

I second (or third or fourth...) the Zoetrope. It truely is amazing, and it doesn't take long to pop in and see it...

I'm not sure about the animation academy, but shows like Alladin aren't showing during the trick or treat party. Most rides will be open, there will be music and dancing with the characters, meet and greets, and lots of treat stations. If you go during regular park hours before the party you can catch the great shows.

Definitely Monsters Inc, Soarin', and not the best ride, but every trip we do Mulholland Madness...I believe out of tradition!

Are you only going during MToT Party?

Our faves are Soarin', ToT, Screamin' TSMM. Those we have to do every visit.

The animation building has been open during ToT the past 2 years, in fact it has several candy stations inside with some of the shortest candy lines in the park!

PLEASE don't limit your time in DCA to just the party!!!! DCA is really great. Grizzly River Run is one of the two best rides ever (the other is Toy Story Midway Mania). Lock your valuables in the free lockers, wear a poncho if you don't like being wet, and have fun!

Monster's is pretty fun, bug's land is wonderful (if you're taking your little one, in my family's opinion, bug's land is better than fantasyland...nothing scary!).

The Animation Academy is great, but if you have your little one, you won't be able to experience much, most likely.

If you have a little one, I recommend checking out A Bug's Life area. They have a couple cute little rides DD liked. Also, my DD (just under 2 at the time) LOVED the Playhouse Disney Show :thumbsup2 Also, TOT and Soarin'!!!!

Oh ya, how could I forget??? One of my favorite rides is Heimlich's Chew Chew Train...I love that silly little ride!!!! LOL

Wow, I didn't realize that a lot of the rides at DCA are the same as WDW. Although I have been to WDW a dozen times, I stil have not been on Soarin, so I will make it a point to go on that! Unfortunately I will only be in Anaheim for a day and a half , so my half day will be our Mickeys trick or treat party night and our full day will be at Disneyland park. I'm Super excited to check out all the halloween decor and of course the haunted mansion transformed into NBC!!!!!

Soarin over california, Grizzley River Run, Californian Screamin, Heimlichs ChewChew Train, King Tritons Carousel!

Also, the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail is awesome for the kids! Give yourself a good hour to play around in there.
