What non touristy things are there to do outside of the parks?

My husband and I are planning our first orlando/universal themed trip. Typically we just go to Disney without leaving the property. This time we have a few days to explore Orlando. I have been searching for days for what to do outside of the parks, but I can only find family/touristy things to do. We are foodies and aren't super interested in tourist traps. What are the must eats and things to do outside of the parks?

These are our favorites:
Morse Museum to see the Tiffany glass in Winter Park. Take the time to walk around town. It is our favorite place to spend a day outside of the parks. There are so many great restaurants in town that it is hard to choose. Casa Feliz is worth a visit but hours are limited.
Harry P Leu Gardens just south of Winter Park is a favorite of ours. We stop in the morning on the way to Winter Park.
Bok Tower Gardens makes a nice diversion. Make sure to do a guided tour and see the house.
We love eating at the Columbia in Celebration for lunch when they serve a great 2 item combo of black been soup, 1905 salad or 1/2 Cuban sandwich.
We judge the National Pie Competition and the best baker that used to win every year has her own shop in town called Sister Honeys. It is just south of town not too far from Harry P Leu Gardens. Go if you want to try some of the best pie you will ever eat.
Our favorite day is a Sunday morning spent at the Wat Thai temple market in Tampa. We combine it with a visit to Busch Gardens or the Dali Museum in St Pete.

There is so much to do outside the parks and touring the resorts is always high on our list as well.

The Ravenous Pig in Winter Park was great when we ate there years ago. I’d suggest picking up a travel guide (Fodors or something similar) to look for recommendations. We have done non-theme park days. Visiting the botanical garden was nice, although if you’re not into gardens this may not be interesting. We really enjoyed our visit to the Kennedy Space Centre.

We really enjoyed the Harry Leu Gardens. I also think just driving to winter garden and walking around could be nice

Midway airboat rides
