What nicknames do you have for rides???

In honor of DH's mom, Mickey's Philharmagic will forever be known as Mickey's Philharmonica. :rotfl:

Oh oh!!! Don't forget Primeval Hurl!! :teeth: Oh, and DH has made up a whole new concept for Illuminations -- Illiminations. It's a long story.

Space ship Earth-"The Golf Ball"
BTR-"Runaway Train"
The Great Movie Ride-Train Robbery
Hall of Presidents -Air conditioned nap
Carousel of Progress-"The ride that doesn't end." Haha story about this one-we went on it a couple of years ago and the ride got stuck and would not let us off-we were stuck in the 1920s decade for thirty years.
I like the idea of Tiki Torture.

DD is 8 now, but at 2 her favorite ride was "Bumbo!" and to her embarrassment we still call it that.

We don't have too many, but DD still calls Space Ship Earth the "AT&T" ride. You see I work for AT&T and she recognized the logo when we first visited and wanted to know why my "work" was at Disney I am sure the Siemens folks wouldn't be too happy about it... but watcha gonna do... old habits die hard. Maybe some day we will sponsor another attraction!

TTA - People Mover
Test Track I am forever calling Fast TracK - Fast Pass, Test Track..... :confused3 whatever!

I have no idea why, but my 4 yo DD calls Spaceship Earth "The Jesus Ride" :confused3

Maybe because one of the animatronics looks like Jesus?

Who knows, I used to refer to Epcot as "Epacot" when I was about 3 or 4, then I met another kid who called it Applecot, so I didnt feel as bad.

TTA: Peoplemover, its just much quicker and easier to say, they shouldnt have changed it

Splash Mountain: Splash

BTMRR: Thunder

Space Mountain: um, Space Mountain (Somehow that one gets the full name)

POTC: Pirates

Maelstrom: That Norway ride

El Rio Del Tiempo: Mexico ride

The TTA will always be the Peoplemover to me. My DM has called TT Fast Track since the first time she rode it.

Before the rehab on It's a Small World, the end of the ride was really bumpy. So, when we rode it that last time before the rehab, I was being silly and said "Shaken not stirred, shaken not stirred!" as we bumped along. It made Gabby laugh, so IaSW is "Shaken not stirred" even though the rehab took away the bumps. Maggie

Me and my friend call each of the mountain's by their first name(space, splash, thunder) and we also say their names backwards so that people at our high school have no idea what we're talking about :rotfl:

And of course, good ole "toad ride" for Mr. Toad's Wild Ride!

I still call attractions in Studios by the names that CMs call them. They're not very creative - just shortened.

Rock 'n' Roller Coaster is Coaster
Tower of Terror is Tower
Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Playground is HISK or Honey Hell
Great Move Ride is GMR
Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular is either Indy or Epic

We also called the parks by shortened names - Kingdom, DAK and Studios (Epcot is short enough)

For us Tower of Terror is Tower and BTM is the wildest ride in the wilderness, don't ask me why. I can never figure it out :confused3 ;)

Spaceship Earth will always be "the golf ball" because the first time we took my nephew he was really into golf and he thought that was the coolest thing he'd ever seen. Hey, even Pal Mickey tells you how tall you'd have to be to play golf with it!

BTRR is Runaway Train. Dad started calling it that years ago and it stuck. There used to be a ride at Six Flags in NJ with that name-it was an wooden roller coaster and we loved it. I don't know if it's still there or they pulled it down to make room for new ones.

We've always called it the Runaway Train too!

ps ~ 2 miles, correct?

I seem to have enough trouble remembering the actual names of the rides. Giving them each a nickname would only add to my confusion.

We've always called the Hall of Presidents the Hall of Naps. Of course, now I have to be "Responsible Mom" and not call it that around my kids because then they won't want to go in and get their daily dose of education while on vacation ;)

Just a few of ours.

Stitch's great burp.

Jungle Snooze

Hall of Snoring

Chucky's ultimate revenge

Primeval Hurl

The golf ball

Sounds Stupid or Sounds lame

Caroussel of little progress.

Dumbo with carpets

Dumbo with Rockets

Dumbo with Dinosaurs

Since they removed Toad - which is another nickname and a ride that I thought was uber-awesome - for Pooh, I now refer to the ride as "Winnie the Friggin' Pooh ride." Among other nice nicknames.

MuppetVision = The Muppet Show

It's a Small World = Dang Singin' Dolls

When I see PotC week after next and the new Captain Sparrow, PotC might get some new interesting nicknames. :rotfl:

When I was a kid, I used to call Spaceship Earth, "The Ball."

And I still call TTA "The Wedway Peoplemover" and refuse to change. :p

I'm giggling over these

EE according to the little girl I sit for(yes this is from The Backyardigans) YETI YETI YETI
