Brazil!

My vote is for Brazil....

1. Restaurant would be awesome! It could copy the bar on Disney Dream+Fantasy that overlooks major cities. The restaurant could pretend to overlook Rio at night (or actually overlook part of the ride and/or the pavilion itself. Could be signature restaurant if done right.

2. The ride could go through Amazon, Rio, Iguazu Falls, Minas Gerais, Beaches, etc.... Ride should have an element of thrill to it...not just a Gran Fiesta Tour. I'm thinking boat with a few drops? Nothing to get you too wet, but a little more steep than Pirates. Or maybe pretend boat that is actually on a track to allow for a little zip up, down and around corners? Like

3. Entertainment could be Carnival Samba dancing, although a little less toplessness and a little less overt sexualizing of the dancing. And, in the pavilion they have little Jedi Academy, only for Samba dancing. So kids could sign up for a 1/2 hour at a Samba school.

4. Somehow, we have to work soccer into the pavilion....

I like everything about this response.

I don't think they would put a giant Jesus Christ statue in WS...
I'd like to see India, Australia, or Egypt or Greece.

Indonesia!! Kidding.

I want to say India, but I feel like that would be too much food overlap with things already in Disney.

I'm not too familiar with food at Disney. Are there lots of Indians? I thought it'd overlap with EE with its Nepalese background.

I'd still go with India pavilion tho. That country is just oozing with awesome materials for a pavilion. The food, the history, the landmarks, Bollywood, the rich festivals, the Gods, the national costumes, the possibilities are endless!

How was it even chosen which countries were originally put in WS?
They went around to countries and asked if they wanted to be in WS, but the countries had to put up sponsorship money. I believe they were committed to 30 years.

I was thinking of Sanaa, but mostly of the Morocco pavilion. And while India and Morocco are, of course, nowhere near each other, and the food's not the same, I think of them as both falling into the same vague food category, especially for the average American not used to either.

Everyone complains about the Brazilian tour groups, but wants a Brazil in Epcot?!

As long as any Brazil WS pavilion doesn't include men with beer guts wearing speedos? Yes.

India would have some great options.

I like Australia.

I would really like to see Cambodia or maybe Singapore.

"Stuff white people don't eat."

They're nothing alike. Indian food would be a welcome, and diverse, addition to the World Showcase. Lord knows "food crossover" isn't really a thing Disney is worried about, considering there's no shortage of spots for traditional American junk food.

Actually, Sanaa is indeed billed as African/Indian. What are naan and butter chicken and lamb vindaloo if not Indian? But yes, 'stuff white people don't eat'. Your average American family with children. Do you have a problem with that? People looking for diverse, authentic food should be traveling to New York, not Disney World. Your 'food crossover' contention is irrelevant; that's what most people eat.

Hence the edit; I misspoke.

You're right, why in the world would I expect cultural diversity in the World Showcase?

Cultural diversity, yes. To a point. I guarantee you, though, that most people aren't choosing the adventurous stuff that's truly authentic; they're dipping their toes in, testing the waters with safe choices.

Personally, I like Indian food, and I have no problem with an India pavilion. And sorry, I didn't see that part of your edit.

Ah. Aside from the food, I always see those countries mentioned as distincly different from each other, tho. Morocco being African with Middle Eastern flair, India being Asian. I don't 'feel' any overlapping, but I understand where you're coming from.

As for the Brazil pavilion, they can be the designated meeting point / picnic area / chanting competition arena for the BTGs and pull them out of other Epcot areas, actually ;)
