what new food did you discover in orlando

For the Blooming Onion lovers try Lakeland Limited - the steakhouse onion bloomer

http://www.lakelandlimited.co.uk/product.aspx/!10378

The 1st time we went in 1988 Dh & I fell in love with eggs benedict @ Denny's for breakfast.....can't imagine how we both put on nearly a stone in 2 weeks :rotfl:

Since then I've discovered and love

Cheddar Bay Biscuits @ Red Lobster
Peanut Butter Cups
Caribbean Jerk Chicken sandwich @ Earl of Sandwich
Chinois Salad @ Wolfgang Puck Express
Cornbread
The different types of pancakes with nuts and cinnamon apple

Think I should stop there

Dole Whips!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! One of the few times I can eat ice cream as it is Lactose free.

Oooh! yes, dole whips -yum!

I was reading this thread at work :surfweb: whilst eating my lunch, a pathetic turkey salad. Unfortunately, the more I read the more pathetic my lunch became! I so need a US Food Fix, right here, right NOW!!!

Where do I start? Oh yes

Crab legs from Red Lobster - I didn't know you could get crabs THAT big!
And their cheese biscuits as well, mmmmm.

Orange Slice drink - Used to be called Mandarin Slice so I dont know if they changed the recipe

Key Lime Pie

Strawberry Twizzlers

Combos

Caesar salad ( I'd always twisted my face up at it in the UK until I tried it in the US)

Grape jelly

This list could go on forever, and my salad still looks pathetic so I'm going to stop writing now before I race off to the shops to buy some Reeses Cups and Hersheys chocolate!

Corn muffins.

Everything with cinnamon in it (particularly muffins).

Applejacks (breakfast cereal).

Beignets (a kind of fried dough).

Cherry pie.

Black beans and rice.

Good seasons salad dressings (you buy powder in a sachet and mix it yourself. We buy loads to bring home).

Jello in flavours like blueberry and grape - way better than Rowntrees.

Gravy (the white stuff).

Gumbo (a kind of shrimp soup).

Hershey Symphony bars.

Cookies & cream chocolates (I think they're Hershey too).

Saltwater Taffy (great 'pick & mix' selection in the sweet shop on Main Street in MK - some great flavours not seen elsewhere).

Red Dog beer (actually any beer at all ....)

For me it has to be the boneless shanghai wings in Chilis. Absolutely to die for!!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

This is from Chili's web site: BONELESS SHANGHAI WINGS
Crispy breaded chicken breast topped with sweet and spicy ginger-citrus sauce and sesame seeds. Served with spicy-cool wasabi-ranch dressing for dipping.

This delicacy was regularly mentioned on these boards by sadly-now-missing, Anz (aka Miss Pennie Lane) and are very, very tasty. This is a starter but I'd definintely recommend sharing :)

not so much a food as a restaurant, but we love taco bell, cheap cheerful and ALL the kids will eat something :thumbsup2
tracy xx
Ooooh I second Taco Bell! We often nip in 3 times a day and just have one thing each time (and to also get the sauce - love it and can only find the bottles to buy in California).

Have to agree also with all things cinnamon!....and funnel cake.... and anything peanut butter.... and macadamia & white choc cookies.... and.... now don't laugh at this one: Brocolli on pizza yum yum

I'm an a serious diet until we go so I can eat what I want and not worry for 15 days :yay:

Oooh made me very hungry .... our list would be Funnel Cake, Key Lime Pie, Wild Cherry Pepsi (for DH & Kids I'm not keen), Strawberry Twizzlers, anything with chocolate & peanut butter, frozen lemonade & warm Cinnabon mmmm and we also always buy lots of Lucky Charms to bring home as you can no longer get them here and the kids love them
