What New Country Should They Add To EPCOT?

These all sound great but it is unfortunate that they are adding Hong Kong as the next pavillion. I think that is so lame since they already have China and Japan. Furthermore, HK is a Chinese republic.

Greece would be great they could add they parthenon and an olympic stadium!!! Egypt also sounds like a cool idea with pyramids and a sphinx!

HONG KONG??? well that is just plain boring! Why add that when they have China and Japan? I totally agree on that shelbyjosh.

I think either Australia or Egypt. They could do great things with either one of those countries. Lil kangaroos or the pyramids would be great!!

But instead we have to visit lame ol' Hong Kong. ech.

Argentina, Brazil, Peru.... they could have an Incan Machu Pichu type of thing or a rainforest theme....

they need to expand to new and different cultures not more of the same (HK, isn't that more just a city?)

The newest Disney park is arriving in Hong Kong. Is that maybe what you are thinking? That is scheduled to open in September. I can't wait to check it out!

I agree with the past posters who vote for Australia (one of the largest countries!) and Egypt. Those would both be super cool!

My vote would be Ireland. They could have a theater for Off Kilter!! Also, green beer!! Shamrocks, leprechauns, Irish step dancers. I love all of it!

Spain, I'm Spanish so I'm completely biased.

Russia. I think having Russia would be amazing, there is so much history and the culture seems so interesting.

shelbyjosh- Where did you hear that Hong Kong was becoming an EPCOT pavillion? What a waste of effort that would be with so many interesting and unique "real" countries to showcase.

When EPCOT opened, there were three additional pavilions on the drawing board: Equatorial Africa (with author Alex Haley as spokesman), Spain and Israel. The proposed African location still maintains a few small craft shops.

There was also serious interest for a Russian pavilion, but when the Soviet Union collapsed, there was no one left to carry on the discussions, and of course, no money for sponsorship.

Of the original three, my choice would be Equatorial Africa, but the region is already represented at AK pretty well.

With that said, my first pick would be South America, with all of its countries represented and plenty of restaurants! Australia should be there as well.

Definitely Greece, I'm surprised it wasn't included originally. But then again, for those of us who enjoy the beers of the world at Epcot Belgium would be nice

I always hoped they'd eventually add South America to Animal Kingdom, actually. I think that would be perfect there!

For Epcot, I'd vote for Ireland

I think Egypt would be awesome! So many great things they can put in there, i.e. Pyramids, tombs, mummies, and even trying new food would be awesome. I like Ireland too, I have been there, great people. Good food, I love fish and chips! Had my first pint of beer their, Guinness, I was only 17 at the time.

I think that I would like to change my vote from Australia to RUSSIA! It's a country that spans two continents yet I don't know much about their cultures or cuisines!

Another vote for Australia, it is a fantastic diverse country and the wine is good as well.
