DH and I are planning our 40th anniversary trip in January. We have sadly not been to WDW since 2007! We are so excited to go even though we have some extra disabilities now that we did not have back then. Please tell me what we should absolutely NOT miss doing while we are there? I am trying to get caught up on all the refurbishments that are going on and new changes in the parks and I am feeling a bit overwhelmed right now, so would you please help me out? We will be driving and not flying and for our convenience we will drive to each park and not use the bus system. I think it will be easier and faster for us. OH, I think we will be staying at CSR this time around. We have only stayed POFQ in the past.

Thank you so much for all your help

Flight of Passage. Most amazing ride I have been on in my life. Standby is totally worth it if you can't get a FP (and I don't say that about any other ride).

CSR is undergoing construction - here's a link to a construction update. https://www.disneytouristblog.com/coronado-springs-resort-construction-update-2018/

The new Happily Ever After evening show at magic kingdom is definitely can't miss, as is the entire new fantasy land area (the major draw is seven dwarves mine train roller coaster, but we really enjoy the little mermaid ride too). Also, pandora in Magic Kingdom is beautiful.

Yes, I am aware of the construction going on but from everything I have read and seen I don't think it will be an issue for us.
Is the Happily Ever After evening show done in front of the castle?

Yes!!!!! That one is absolutely on our list of things. I've heard wonderful things about Pandora and we are very excited about that one.
Thank you!!

Yes. It’s actually on and above the castle. Consider springing for a garden view dessert party if you don’t want to camp out for a spot or be among the masses. This is an amazing show and an absolute can’t miss in my opinion

Ok, I just found what you were talking about.

Our Must Do's are:
  • A trip to DS for a meal. We have one at Bongos and one at the Edison. No matter what type of food or atmosphere you like they have a ton a new restaurants to accommodate. If you are a Raiders of the Lost Arc fan then Jock Lindsays is an interesting place for a cocktail.
  • MK - HEA ( this is new to us as we haven't been there since this was introduced ), BoG for a meal ( we've done breakfast and are doing lunch this time around ), SDMT and the Fantasyland expansion if you haven't had a chance to check it out yet. Oh yeah, and you've got to check out the Tangled rest area. Most elaborate bathroom area I have ever seen.
  • EP - FEA is one of the hard to get FPs right now. Soarin', Test Track, Living with the Land and Spaceship Earth are on our list. The Pixar short movies is also supposed to be good. We'll be checking that out on our next trip. We're also friends of the Garden Grill breakfast ( has characters and is in a cool, slow moving restaurant ).
  • HS - the new TSL. Slinky Dog coaster is one of the hardest FPs to get. Check out Alien Saucers and TSM too. If your a Star Wars fan there is some cool interactions and food items.
  • AK - Pandora for sure. River of Lights show at night too.
Have fun!
