What months would you consider staying offsite?

I have the undercover tourist map and express pass pricing, but what months would you personally consider staying off site? We're, just boyfriend and I, getting annual passes starting in Dec and have possible trips planed for Jan, Feb, Mar, May, Sept, Oct, Nov?, and Dec.

Jan would be sometime the week after New Years. Feb would be the 10-12, March would be spring break which I'm thinking is 10-18, May after finals (after 1st week), Sept 21-23, Oct 21-25, Nov.. idk yet, Dec 8-12.

Thoughts are staying on site during the busier weeks/weekends and staying off site the more laid back less busy days to save a few hundred dollars. If you have any high recommendations for partner hotels I would also appreciate them. I've been to the parks several times staying on site and off, but have always been a follower, not the planner.

Thinking, Jan, March, Nov, Dec are must on-site months. Feb, May, Sept and maybe Oct are possible off site months.

I am a fanatic about details and planning. I have so many lists and excel budget sheets it not even funny. I'm laid back and go with the flow when I get to the parks but before I have to plan it out JUST right ;) Plus, we're trying to accommodate our friends who have a lower budget range so we're trying to find months/prices they cam come with us...

Thanks for any help!

Offsite is fine:

Most of Jan (after the 10th, preferred)
Most of Sept (after Labor Day)
Most of Nov (except Turkey Day weekend)
First half of Dec

Feb, March, and May are very hit-or-miss. I'd recommend staying onsite during those months.

November is a great time to visit. Hurricane season is over and the Christmas decorations start to come out. Plus the weather is wonderful.

Stayed offsite for a December 1 visit and it was great. Low crowds. Link below with our trip journal

Very nice. I'm glad Im not the only one who takes something along or buys something there to put in the pictures! We used to do it when my brother was in the Navy so he could "Go" on vacation with us. Once it was a rubber duck in uniform another was a monkey in Hawaiian shirt. Great journal thanks for sharing!

We've stayed offsite the last three years. We've gone in June, July, and August. We like the extra space of the condos at Floridays. Still close enough to everything, but 1200 sq. feet w/full kitchen and option to do laundry always beats out a dinky hotel room.
