we already know there are some times that are extremely popular with DVCers... such as F&W festival, early Dec, and NYE.
it's a given that those times are practically impossible to book last-minute.

so i was curious about which months seem to be easier to book last-minute.

most of us do plan out 11mos in advance (as seen by a previous poll ), but sometimes some of us decide spur of the moment to book a last minute trip.

please vote for which month(s) you have been most successful with booking a last-minute trip to WDW (OKW, BWV, VWL, BCV only).

thanks! looking forward to seeing the poll results...

We have been going sometime during the first 3 weeks in May lately and have had no problems getting exactly what we want. We have even changed our accomodations or the dates at the last minute with no trouble what so ever. In 2002 we even got a GV at OKW only 5 months out. Just made our reservations for May 8th - 14th and most everything was open except standard view at BWV. Had no trouble getting a 1-bedroom at BCV. Last year we added 2 extra days to our stay while we were there.

Hello: Last week, tried to book first week of May 2004, a studio at BCV, the Sunday was not available but all the other day were. MS said we could wait-list the Sunday. I decided to go the week before, no problem.

I voted January as I think it might be the lowest attendance period at WDW and DVC -- coldest of their warm temperatures, no real special events that I am aware of, no holidays, schools are in session.

My second guess would be September.

Just booked BWV for late Feb, 3months ahead. This was a 1-bedroom standard view.

Also booked HH 2 week ahead in Nov. but this is the off season.

Not nessicarily so! Many of us travel that month to get away from snow and cold and take advantage of low crowds and cheap points. I voted for September, because we have twice been able to add nights last minute in September.

The marathon is in January, and the MLK weekend is becoming increasingly popular for closer visitors, but it's still one of the least crowded periods. September is technically the lowest period, but as others have said, it's a trade-off. The hours will be shorter and many things will close for rehab, but we love being there when it's less crowded.

We had no problem securing a BWV studio, preferred boardwalk view for the first 2 weeks in May. We called exactly 7 months out since our home is VWL.
