Thinking about a trip to disneyland. We are very flexible and I was wondering what everyone thought was the best month to visit and why. There will be 3 adults visiting.

When is it less crowded?
when is it warm enough to get wet but not hot out?
when is the park open a good enough of time to enjoy the parks?

Just some things to think about. :thumbsup2

I always prefer January and Febraury. It can be warm (60's) during the day, but cold at night. September is also good, it can still be in the 80's. It closes at the earliest around 8pm on weekdays I think. But with reduced crowds, that is plenty of time to do a lot!

We love to go during the 1st couple of weeks in December. The park is decked out with holiday decor, it always gets us in the holiday spirit. Plus, it is usually in the 60's, not too crowded during the week at all. The parks usually close around 8pm, but on the weekends open until around midnight. You would be able to do everything in just a couple of days though with adults only during the week. Rarely long lines at all! We have taken 4 trips during this time since 12/02 and love it. Plus, It's a Small World and Haunted Mansion are decorated totally different, which is a fun bonus. You can usually score reduced rates at the Disney hotels during this time as well. We've stayed from $129/night at Paradise Pier. I strongly suggest staying onsite, it makes your trip that much more magical.

That is also a great time- just go as early in the month for less crowds :) The fireworks at christmas are SO pretty.

My favorite time to go is in September - cheaper hotel prices, less crowded, still warm enough to enjoy the water rides! Yes, DL is only open 10am-8pm during the week, and you only get the fireworks and fantasmic on the weekends, but that's fine with us -we make sure we have at least one weekend planned so we can hit all those things. Because there are so few people, you can see and do most things in that amount of time.

We also LOVE early December, though rarely go on a water ride. Going after the Candlelight processional time, but before mid-december is great. You get to see all the Christmas decorations and goings-on, and the crowds aren't too bad (more than September, but still not too bad).

When is it less crowded? I think late April, and early to mid-May because spring breaks are over and school isn't out yet for the year. Mid to late September because kids are back in school and there are not holidays or breaks until October. Also Early to mid November and after Thanksgiving break until just before Christmas break.
when is it warm enough to get wet but not hot out? May, early June, September can be pretty hot yet, October until the end of the month is usually nice, then it cools off considerably.
when is the park open a good enough of time to enjoy the parks?I don't really know enough about park hours to give you a good answer here. I think even shorter hours at the parks are okay, if the crowds are manageable because you can still see the things you want to see if you aren't fighting a million other people.

Good luck and have fun!

November is my favorite time to go. If you go earlier in the month you can avoid crowds, catch the warm weather without it being too hot, and if you time it just right you might even catch the christmas decorations.

I'm a AP holder so I go at least once a month if not more and my favorite time to go is the 2nd week of Dec. It's perfect cause the decorations are up and the weather is perfect. You may need a light jack in the morn and the night..but other than that jeans and a t-shirt is fine. And as for the crowds it's perfect..cause the schools are not out yet (don't know if that's a prob for you) but it's my all-time favorite time. Hope you have fun!!

Taking into consideration all factors (crowds, weather, park hours), for three adults I would say late April to early May. Virtually no chance of rain and the Food & Wine events are going on at DCA. Not as many kids as usual. My second choice would be early November. Again, near perfect weather and low crowds. Plus you may get Halloween decorations. Late January, early Feb is also good, but will be cold and may rain. Good luck deciding:)
