What mixed drinks are worth the cost?

I'm wondering what everyone's recommendations are for good mixed drinks? I'm mostly interested about in the park drinks, and Pop Century because we are staying there, but feel free to include other resorts and Disney Springs if you wish. The reason I ask is because on our last trip 2 years ago we stayed at YC and ordered some mixers from Hurricane Hannah's that were not strong enough or big enough for the roughly $9 per drink. I stuck to beer after that. And I planned to stick to beer on our upcoming trip but thought I'd get some ideas for some change up cocktails. My expectations aren't too high, I'm only looking for at least 'strong enough I guess'.

You'll be hard pressed to find anything but super sweet fruity drinks with a hint of alcohol. Buy booze off campus and drink in your room.

Canadian beer in Epcot. Especially if they have the cherry Ephemere, which they won't, but hope springs eternal for me.

The gigantic, to be shared, 7 Seas Lagoon at The Wave at Contemporary.

The Polynesian Pearl at Trader Sam's, except that they really don't let you buy it without the glass, so if you're having more than one it adds up.

If cost is that much of an issue maybe make one or two in the room before going out. I'm a wine drinker and not a huge fan of fruity drinks. Crown and diet Coke is my drink of choice if not getting wine which is rare. You can always order an extra shot of alcohol in your drink which would be an upcharge but not likely the same cost as ordering a second drink. If you're at a resort you could probably sneak your own shot in with a flask. I guess I've never thought of alcohol as having a value. If I want to save money during my vacation I just don't drink or I drink only at happy hour. That's the great thing for me about being at a theme park is that you can have a great time without drinking.

It's hard to find a list of happy hours but I found this on tripadvisor:

House of Blues from 3-5 has $3.75 Bud Light or $4.50 margaritas. Raglan Road offers $2 off beer, which starts at about $7 before the discount. The AMC Theater has a bar and you can enter without a movie ticket, and take out a beer - $9.50 for a 24 oz.

I'm not as concerned about cost, although I did mention it in my initial question, I'm looking for drinks where you know alcohol has been added. For example we have ADR for San Angel Inn. Do the margaritas have a kick? I just didn't want to repeat what I would call watered down drinks like I had at Hurricane Hannah's before which if I remember correctly was a margarita. Although I know whoever is pouring that day can make a difference. Keep coming with your favorites guys.

We like the drinks at La Cava del Tequila - stick with those on the rocks though. We have found some really good bottles of wine at Tutto Gusto Wine Cellar that are surprisingly inexpensive for WDW. Also - saki at Mitsukoshi in the Japan Pavilion.

Thanks for the info. From what I understand we can order drinks sitting at San Angel Inn from La Cava. I will plan to do that.

Thanks for posting this! We are heading down in May for the first time and I've been looking at drink menus. I don't mind paying the $ for drinks as long as they are worth it. Nothing worse than spending $10 on a drink and it tastes terrible or has no alcohol in it.

Agreed.

I bet you are excited for your first trip. If you are on here it looks like you are doing your homework which is a good idea. Enjoy and expect to be hooked.

Tea Breeze (Iced Tea, frozen lemon aid and Vodka) They are on the joffrey's coffee carts I have only seen them In Epcot and typhoon lagoon.

I am consistently happy with a Manhattan from the Tambu Lounge at the Poly. They do have lots of sweet drinks on the menu but are able to make you just about anything you want.

The margaritas at La Cava are worth it. The blood orange and cucumber are my favorites.

I had a raspy old fashioned and my husband had a whiskey punch from Raglan Road that was strrrrooooooong. My drinks at Homecoming were strong too. Anything frozen in the parks I find, are pretty weak.

Shipwreck on the Rocks at Trader Sam's.

I was pleasantly surprised by this. It's not sickeningly sweet. The Shrunken Zombie Head is also a solid choice. I'm used to *really* well done tiki cocktails at my local bar (freshly squeezed juices, homemade orgeat, drinks that go down smooth but pack a punch), but many other bars absolutely destroy classics like the Mai Tai (get that orange juice outta here!)

Trader Sam's does a good job of being an "entry level" tiki bar. Many of the drinks are approachable to the average theme park goer, but the bartenders will also absolutely make you something with a little more kick, should you want it!

Tiffins, or Nomad lounge (same bar tenders, I think). Mixed drinks everywhere else seem to be mostly water (lots and lots of ice, little alcohol, fruity stuff full of sugar).

Are you eating at any signatures? All the ones we have gone to make a good cocktail. They have the ones on the menu and then you can order more common ones, like a martini for example.
The hotel bars make a great dirty martini! I can say that for certain. :o

Anything you get from a kiosk or quick service is going to be mostly sugar.

Stick to ordering vodka or gin and tonic type drinks for your best chance at a stiff drink. When you start mixing in juices, etc. that's when the sweet comes in and you lose the punch.

We had a really good margarita at cava del tequila. Not the premixed ones. The bartender recommended a great tequila and mixed it fresh. My only regret was not asking for an extra lime wedge.
