I am in recovery and have been clean and sober for over 13 years. There is not a day that goes by that I don't thank god and my friends and family for saving me from myself. I am very lucky.

The thing that scares me now is that I have three young children and I would be devastated to see them wind up in this state.

I will join you in thanking God & family and friends for saving you from yourself. Addiction to drugs must be a horrible thing to go through and a lot of people do not make it through. Thank God you did. I wish you and your family well.

While on a meth high, the user cannot feel pain and thus compulsively scratch themselves on their face and on their arms, literally tearing themselves apart. Some "meth" abusers don't do this though, but it is very apparent in a lot of cases. Really is horrible what this drug is doing to our country.

I wondered why so many of them had those horrible marks on their faces. How sad.

The drug eats away at the human brain which can lead to memory loss, depression and even psychosis.

I didn't know this... should have assumed so, but never really had a reason to think about it.
