Off the top of my head, mainly huge tubs of painkillers and antacid plus cold/flu remedies which I've found much better than ours...

We normally get the tubs of Tylenol extra strength painkillers and on our last trip I came across a really good gel for skin complaints, like psoriasis which I have a touch of - Corticool.

That's interesting - I have psoriasis so will look out for that in May!!! :thumbsup2

funny I have to take stuff over to my DB anytime we are going over there

I could spend hours in the medication aisle at Walmart - and I'm not a big fan of tablets - I'm just amazed at how much choice there is compared to back home!

We usually buy ibruprofen - cos it's much cheaper (I have to have the lactose free stuff and over here that means the pricey capsules) and I've discovered some great eye drops too. i also stock up on the fibersure stuff - it's half the price that they sell it for in Sainsburys!

For any weekly/monthly contact lens wearers, you should stock up on some Clear Care (http://www.clearcaresolution.com/). It's incredible stuff, no more rubbing your lenses with your fingers and a really effective cleaning. It literally feels like you are putting on a fresh pair of lenses each day. I wear Ortho-K lenses now, but when I wore regular lenses I wished they sold Clear Care in the UK so much.

No good for my DH as he wears gas permeables - thanks for the recommendation anyway.

Not your usual medication but last time we were at the Pemium Outlet Mall, I was approached by someone selling an aloe vera lotion. She said it " it would be great for the redness on my chin" Wonderful!
Anyway when I mentioned this to Dsis she said they had bought some for DD with eczema and it had worked wonders.
I`ll buy some next time.

Antibiotic cream. I then take it wherever I'm travelling just in case any cuts or scrapes start to look worrying.

Not exactly medicine but i stock up on Bio-oil and (for any spotty teenagers - of which i have one!:rotfl2: ) Clearasil facial wipes....both of these are at least half the price:thumbsup2

that antibiotic cream is fab, it so does the job, I also get the jumbo tubs of painkillers

we buy the tubs of painkillers, DayQuil and NyQuil cold and flu stuff, BAND Aids - (the only plasters that stay stuck), Tums and Antiobiotic cream

we buy loads of vitimns, migraine painkillers and the sticks to rub on you head for headaches. also buy loads of medical tape needed for our son its 90c and over here it is £4

Please be careful that you know the UK equivalent name of US drugs so that you don't run any risks of overdosage/drug interactions etc. For example, regular Tylenol is known as Paracetamol here! :thumbsup2

Great question! Made me realise how much we rely on our annual trip to keep our medicine cabinet stocked - Tylenol, Tylenol PM (paracetamol, help you sleep!), Advil (ibruprofen), Neosporin antibiotic cream, Excedrin migraine tablets, lots of Tylenol kids stuff (they have these great cough medicine strips that just dissolve on the tongue, and also some that are like ice lollies), hydrocortisone cream, Pepto Bismol tablets as I hate the taste of the medicine....gosh, we must rattle our way home!

Just a tip - Walmart and other drug stores sell generic versions of Tylenol, Advil, etc that is exactly the same, but much cheaper because it isn't a brand name. For example, the tub of Walmart Equate brand Acetaminophen has the exact same ingredients as the tub of Tylenol and the Equate brand ibuprofen has the exact same ingredients as Advil but is much cheaper for the exact same thing.

We always buy the big tubs of Walmart's Equate ibuprofen :)

It's never really occured to me to bulk buy medicines from the US - I find most generic pain medication very cheap in UK supermarkets. In fact painkillers available here are not available in the US without prescription - the ones with codiene in for example.
