Boise is great because we have a little bit of everything

Still small enough that people are friendly and talk too each other and the crime rate is low, but its big enough that we have most convienences, good shopping, great food, museums, a science center and a zoo to name a few.

We have 25 miles of Greenbelt, a paved walkway/bikeway throughout the city that follows the Boise River. We have an awesome park system, its clean, well taken care of and they are wonderful. Its a great place to raise families. People are involved with their community, they really care about our way of life here.

Within 2 hours you can be hiking in the mountains or playing in the sand dunes. You can be rafting, skiing, fishing, or riding an ATV through the desert.

I love it here, with as much as I fought it the first few years we were here I wouldnt want to raise my kids anywhere else.

So what makes your area unique?

We have more cows than humans. I'm not kidding, we even have designated "cow crossings" here.

It was a big news day last December when a cow escaped and got hit by a van. Front page news.

And in the spring, the stench is phenomenal. Makes a sewage treatment plant smell like a rose garden.

I think there are more creeks in our town than any other in the area.

I live in a suburb about 15 miles north of Boston. The town is very picturesque with 2 lakes and beautiful green space. We are close enough to enjoy all the offerings that Boston has but not have to live in the city with the crime, traffic and pollution. :cheer2:

What makes your town unique?

That's what I'd love to know! People keep pouring in here to live and I can't figure out *why*! :confused3 :teeth:

They shoot and portray our fine city in the Homicide and even the truer of life HBO series the Wire.

Edgar allen poe is buried here.

We have the great Fort Mchenry and the Stars bangle banner.

We can drive 3 hrs to the beach or 3 hours to go snow sking.

The University of Notre Dame- and EVERYTHING here seems to revolve around football season!

Our very small town is located along a state forest. On a nice weather weekend you can see horses tied to hitching posts "downtown" along with dozens of Harley's parked along the same street. Everyone is there to enjoy the area doing what they like best.

Marion County, FL (Ocala area) is known to be the "Horse Capital of the World", having the most horses & ponies in residence in the U.S. (Kentucky still leads in total value of horses sold.) It's a BIG business here.

Philadelphia has the largest city park - Fairmount Park. We have the country's first public zoo. The Liberty Bell is here and Betsy Ross made the first American flag here, there is a lot of history in Philadelphia.

We are 1-1/2 hours from the shore and from the mountains.

Oh, and we have the best cheesesteaks. :thumbsup2

Pshhhhhhh Go State! :cheer2:

State College PA... Everything revolves around football season and JoePa (our 78 year old coach).

I am in a true quaint college town... 3 hours from civilization.

We were considered one of the fastest growing towns in N. Texas for the first few years we lived here. We moved in July of 01, when the pop. was around 5,000. Now it's closer to 30,000. Wow,huh?

What makes us special? We are right in the middle of it all. We are smack dab in the middle between Denton (Go Mean Green!), Frisco and The Colony.

I really like living here. We're known as the Town With The Lake Attitude, because we are right next to Lake Lewisville. You can walk out of my house, walk about 4-5 blocks and be right at the lake.

DH is on town council and we are both heavily involved in volunteering in the community.

New Braunfels is located between Austin & San Antonio on I-35 in the beautiful Texas Hill Country.

-German heritage. Our 10-day salute to sausage (and beer ;) ), Wurstfest, is in full swing as of this posting. Come dance to the Polka music!

-Large Hispanic influence.

-home of the #1 waterpark in America (Schlitterbahn)

-Two beautiful spring fed rivers (Comal & Guadalupe) run through town.

-Our beautiful city park, Landa Park, & Founder's Oak tree (over 100 years old!).

As our Chamber Of Commerce sign says:

Willkommen!
Bienvenido!
Welcome!

and of course....

PIRATES!

Our town has alot of industrial history and the area is called the black country as their was lots of industrail factories etc and their were mines, and it still has alot of orginal features. I live in central england so within a 2 hour drive i can get to Warwick Castle, Stratford upon Avon, Wales, Birmingham...but to me it seems a quite boring place to be day to day, although if u have the time to go around im sure people like it.

It's half college and half farmers and we all get along just fine! :)
