What makes your SO so special?

Why is my husband so special. He does the cooking and has since I broke both my tibia and fibula 4 years ago and was on bedrest for 3 months. Took me to Disney 2x while I was supposed to be on bedrest in a wheelchair because I was going stir crazy. Drives me anywhere I want anytime even though I could really drive myself. Treats me and the girls like queens. Will rescue the girls any time any where. Plans so we are self sufficient after a hurricane. Boards up every time there is any threat of a storm. He also does any heavy jobs around the house. And he has put up with me for over 30 years. ANd he goes to all my deaf events, even though he does sign, but he does understand a lot more than he did at first.

My DH is kind, loving, and an all around nice guy.

In December, I will have been married to this wonderful man for 34 years. He is not perfect but he is a caring and gentle man. He loves my family as much as he loves his own.

The way he doesn't steal back the covers from me at night when I'm cold. Either that or he knows I get really crabby when I'm woken up in the middle of the night!

Because we can sit around for hours, do nothing in particular, talk about nothing in particular, and still have a great time doing it. Because he knows me better than anyone else, and vice versa. Because he's my best friend and the love of my life, and always will be.

After 40 years of marriage my DH still makes me laugh. He's the best storyteller in the world. He's quick witted, and can liven up any group with one of his stories or songs.

Yes there are times when I say "go away I'm in no mood for your nonsense today" But I love his nonsense, life is never boring around DH.

He's a special person who's kept me laughing for over 40 years. He can turn any story good or bad into a laugh session.

The love he has for me. When he proposed he said he'd give his life for me. He's never selfish and always does what is best for me. He's the only person in my life that I completely trust with anything.

I'm very short and BF is very tall. I hate being short but BF tells me he loves it because he feels like he could just put me in his pocket and look after me forever

I love that despite how very ill my Dh has been the past 3yrs, his faith in God stands strong. He thinks i am the strong one, but his attitude is an inspiration to me. He never prays for healing for himself. Rather, he prays for contentment in the hand he has been dealt. He puts aside resentment, bitterness, sadness, and envy that any man would feel in his situation and tries his best to give back in the limited ways he can. He fully understands that his time on earth may be limited and he tries to make his days count. Sometimes it's just something little, like throwing a ball to the dog. Sometimes it's bigger, like taking a day off to drive up to the mountains and see the changing leaves.

Oh, and he makes me delicious hot tea every morning.

Oh, too bad Mal's not here this week--I love to tease her about how wonderful my DH is.

Every night at 7:30, he sits on the end of the couch, we watch Jeopardy together and he rubs my feet. He took reflexology classes so he's GREAT at it.

And my favorite: in the winter, he'll get into bed first while I'm still puttering around. He'll lie on my side of the bed until I get there so I won't have to get into a cold bed. It's really the sweetest thing anyone's ever done for me.

He loves my dd like she was his own and spoils her rotten. They're best pals.

And, he's handy. He fixes things around the house all the time without being asked or nagged.

There are many more--we talk all the time, he helps with the household chores, he's my best friend. I'm very lucky to have him.

That is one thing I love about my DH too, I may have not married rich, but I married handy which in my opinon is just as good!

(sometimes mine seems to need a little nagging though! )
